But he crouches, offering his throat:

"I was wrong. Name your price—any treasure."

Dominic's arm wraps my shoulder: "She mentioned you. Not half as rich, not half as strong…" He sniffs dismissively. "Why would she return to a weakened alpha?"

Caleb's alpha aura flares red: "Who are you to interfere? A weak wolf leeching off she-wolves?" "Your parents never taught pack etiquette?"

I sneer,: "Caleb Waverly—when your fangs fail, silence serves better."

"Why unleash your rage on him?"

He crouches lower, voice thick:

"My pack faced a crisis—delayed my hunt for you."

"I've banished Juliet to the Cloud pack—she'll never taint your manor again."

My snout twitches at the stench of desperation pheromones—he craves control, not reunion.

"Our bond dissolved with the cursed wedding ring," I growl, stepping behind Dominic's shielding form.

"You chose your path. Now walk it alone."

"She made her choice, stray. Crawl back to your empty manor."
