This has already been mentioned but the story kind of has massive holes in it starting the early 300's. Like it totally just skips pieces and keeps going with no explanation. I think it started around the time they were filming the 'Movie' and then continued skipping parts throughout the 'Netherworld attack on the Scholars' but when it got really egregious was during the fight between Norther River and Copper Trigram or even during the end of the Summer Break for Shuhang. Comic just completely skipped from one part to another and expected people to follow what was going on, by the point of the exploration into the Secret Realm with the Palace of Winter the comic just jumped from one place to another with no explanation in between but acting like it should have some continuation in the story. Like I read the novel so I knew what parts where missing but someone just reading the comic won't understand why things are happening or how something happened by just reading the comic's story. Point is that while the drawing quality is great and the character designs are pretty funny it's carried by the novel's story, on it's own merit the comic is pretty bad telling it's story.
