Kapitel 114: Amazing Saturday
The next day morning;
Yeongju City, North Gyeongsang province;
Around 3 o'clock in the morning, Jun reached the studio along with his manager. A staff member received them and took Jun to the waiting room. After a few minutes, the program director entered the room while Jun was talking with his manager.
Jun immediately got up on his feet and greeted him with a bow. Upon seeing a tall and handsome idol, Ma Dae-Ho couldn't help but let out a smile and asked without reservations. "Wow, you really look taller than on the screen. By the way, may I know what your height is?"
"186 cm," replied Jun with a smile before thanking him for the praise.
PD Ma stared at Jun for a couple of seconds as he got a strong feeling that this idol is going to be a star, call it a director's instincts or whatever.
He quickly shook away the useless thoughts and gave a copy of the episode's concept and said, "Anyway, there's still 40 minutes left before the scheduled time. In a short while, your themed outfit will be here. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to speak."
With a bit of hesitation, Jun replied, "Director Ma, I was just wondering whether it is okay to give my all. I mean, I have excellent recall and I'm still a rookie. So, I'm worried about other people's opinions, the shooting length, and all…"
Upon hearing Jun's words, Ma Dae-Ho's face was frozen for a second before he forced out a smile and said, "by all means give your best. Leave the shooting and the editing to us."
As Jun nodded, the program director turned around to walk away. The latter's face hardened in a bit of displeasure.
Once he left the room with his assistant, he commented that this idol is quite arrogant and thinking himself as a big star just because of his successful debut. The assistant stayed silent and didn't respond to the matter.
Meanwhile, Jun took a look at the copy. There was nothing new on the paper that he received a couple of days back.
There will be 4 Song dictation segments where an audio clip will be played in the background and the cast along with the guests have to write the lyrics. Here, everyone is on the same team.
After each one, there will be a 10-minute break. One "Song dictation" will be followed by a "snack time segment" where the host will ask them the quiz. This one is individual.
For this episode, the quizzes are Love love Couple, Find the Original Singer, and Music video scene.
Of the four-song dictations, two of the best ones will be aired and for the quizzes, one of three will go to the final cut. The remaining parts will be edited out along with the unnecessary content.
In the end, the estimated overall shooting time (including the break times) is about 5-8 hours.
In the past world, Jun doesn't actually know how it goes on behind the scenes with the variety shows, but upon believing that it will obviously be similar, his respect for these hardworking artists grew a bit.
Sometime later;
About 15 cameramen were ready to shoot with their cameras from all angles, the market setting was also ready with a long table in the center, and the cast was also waiting outside the set, behind the door. Jun was also with them.
Girl's day's Hyeri, and comedienne Park Narae couldn't help but take sneaky glances at Jun, who was looking quite dashing in pitcher's uniform.
Apart from his looks, his height was quite an enviable thing for other entertainers for they felt like it is in the perfect range. To make Jun feel at ease, Shin Dong Yeop cracked a joke with an exaggerated expression that he looked like a protagonist from a baseball drama. Jun could only respond with a thank you.
Fortunately for Jun, he wasn't the center of attention, atleast that's what he felt as he see the Eureka group's seolhyun and Hyejeong standing nearby as they were chatting with others.
As the rest of the members were chatting among themselves, Jun was also in the middle of talking with Key, who is 10 years senior to him. In this world, Shinee never existed and he along with Lee Taemin belonged to a disbanded seven-member group named Zexter. Currently, they were solo artists at the moment.
"Sunbae-nim, I wasn't a trainee and neither was I scouted. Actually, I was a contestant in the Treasure Campus program and made it to the finals but dropped from the reality show due to personal reasons. YG-nim was the one who brought me to the agency," replied Jun to the question of how he ended up at the agency.
Key was certainly curious about Jun, who had scored 200 million views on debut mv.
However, it wasn't to the extent that he would deeply research him. Not to mention, they weren't from the same agency either. That means he has no obligations to look after him. Hence, he just asked questions in a casual manner.
Soon, the crew members gave the signal and everyone but the three guests entered the set in baseball-themed outfits.
For a whole minute, Jun was waiting with the other two guests. There was an awkward silence between the two parties for none of them was willing to initiate a conversation.
In the end, the two senior female idols entered the set without speaking a thing.
"Sung-Jun-ssi, it is your turn." A crew member reminded him after a couple of minutes.
Jun nodded and opened the door, entering the set. He saw MC "Boom" sitting on the right in his own seat and behind them, there were more than a dozen cameras, of which half of them appeared to be pointing at him.
Keeping a smile on his face, he walked at a steady pace while greeting everyone with small bows.
As Jun reached the center, he saw one of the writers raise a large cue card where it was written that he should introduce himself.
Jun quickly gave his introductions. "Annyeonghaseyo, I'm SKY."
As everyone clapped along, another cue card was raised. He was told to be prepared for the performance.
Soon, music was played in the background.
The whole song wasn't played. Just a highlight of the song was played and Jun danced along while lip-syncing as he was told to do so.
Since he wasn't singing and just showcasing the steps, the reactions from the rest of the cast members were normal. They just clapped like usual.
Only Shin Dong-yeop exaggerated a little bit, exclaiming how fluid his movements are. As Comedienne Park Narae also pitched in by humming a part of his song, Key and others just nodded along.
As Jun then took a seat between Shin Dongyeop and Hyeri, MC "Boom" continued with his emceeing.
