I had to negotiate with Mariano to keep them. All he asked was that they weren't allowed inside the house. I'll have to bribe him next time and he might allow even just one of them from time to time.

I also asked him not to lock them in cages or my heart will break. So he had his men build a large kennel that was nearly the size of the guards' cabin. The dogs have plenty of room to play around when they're inside and it has an indoor-outdoor kind of setting so they aren't so confined. Also, they're allowed to roam around the estate in groups and at certain times of the day. I swear Mariano is training them like they're his security guards—except they're dogs.

It's so good to be back home.

I just finished a nice warm bath and I'm applying body cream on my legs in front of the dresser when Mariano comes out of the bathroom and changes into some sweatpants and a hoody.
