Kapitel 96: Masquerade (part 1)
I had still been getting everything ready for the masquerade ball when I got a call from Nick Carter. "What's up?" I asked.
"A.J. is busy right now, but he told me to have you turn on the tv on channel 4 news" Nick replied.
Without missing a beat I turned the tv on and flipped to the news station. Seeing what was playing brought a smile to my face. Lou Pearlman was being escorted to the back of a police car in handcuffs and the news reporter was reporting on all of his crimes which were not just a few.
Picking the phone back up to my ear, I spoke. "So you all took my advice and got yourself a lawyer huh?"
"That bastard had stolen so much from us, thanks to you our future is looking a lot brighter. A.J. told me to tell you he owes you one, honestly we all do".
I didn't hold back my laugh hearing his words. "We are friends, I do not need repayment. I knew that son of a b!tch was corrupt and it was my duty as a friend to tell you guys what I knew. Not only that, he tried to get his grubby hands on my hard earned money as well".
Nick and I talked about this and that before I hung up and started to get ready again. After having seen the news on the tv, I couldn't help but also think about the recent interview I had recently given outside the Children's hospital. I had pretty much told them I was the last of my race similar to Superman.
My origins have been questioned many times before on tv and online and I just felt it was time to set the record straight. I also let them know that I planned to host a tournament for people who wanted to test their fighting ability. I told them anyone was able to join. I also told them that the audience would not need to worry about being harmed and that the tournament would also be broadcasted on tv.
Having finally gotten ready and seeing the time, I walked outside to see Supergirl and Cosmic Starlight ready to go beside Chucky and Scream. Every one of them were in their usual costumes only Supergirl had added a domino mask to her face. Not long after walking out, a limo pulled up and everyone but myself got in.
"Why aren't you getting in?" Supergirl asked confused.
"We are still missing someone, let's wait a couple of more minutes" I replied. I wasn't completely sure Nina would show, but I was a little hopeful.
A small amount of time later a beautiful short and busty woman with pale skin wearing a black leather outfit and a black feathered mask appeared and approached the limo. "This the bus to the Atlantis Masquerade Ball?"
I nodded my head. "I'm happy you could make it Scream Queen"
"Ah, I get it now. Youre a fan of my band?" Nina asked as she came to some kind of understanding on her own.
I just nodded my head and opened the limo door for her as she got in before getting in myself. Supergirl didn't make a habit of trying to see through peoples disguises, but if she had looked through Nina's mask she would recognize her right away. The two had shared contact information long ago and were good friends these days.
The driver although making great time had driven for a couple of hours as we all hung out in the back talking about this and that. Everyone was very interested in the Scream Queen and she seemed somewhat interested in everyone else as well as she sipped on champagne and enjoyed all the attention she was getting.
After a long while the limo finally came to a stop beside the ocean and we all got out to board a boat. I had rented the boat for this occasion and just renting it alone was already a pretty penny, I couldn't imagine buying it. The boat was a 2004 Suntracker 32 Party Cruiser Pontoon Houseboat. It wasn't as nice as a luxury yacht in my opinion, but it had a cabin to keep us all warm until we got to our destination and that's all I was really worried about aside from it being roomy enough to house us all.
We all enjoyed ourselves on the boat until we reached out final destinations exact coordinates. I gave everyone a portable oxygen cylinder before shielding them all with ki and diving down below. It didn't take long till we saw the underwater city in front of us, but before we could even make it to the dome that protected the kingdom, we were stopped by two Atlantean guards who guided us to the entrance. Once we landed within the dome and could speak, one of the guards asked who we were.
I then pulled out my invitation and showed the guard who immediately became less vigilant. After having seen the invitation, the guard asked no more questions and walked us to the front of Aquaman's Castle where the Masquerade ball had already started.
"How should I introduce you?" asked the doorman.
I had come prepared for this as I willed my costume to change to my old tuxedo and mask that I had once worn before and then pulled out a pole that had my newly made coat of arms on it from my inventory and handed it to Scream and Chucky. "Carry this in front of me as we walk in" I told them before turning to the doorman and answering him. "King Of Moonlight"
The doorman walked in front of us and opened the large doors that appeared to be made of some type of shell before pulling out a trumpet and playing it loudly to get everyone's attention. The sound from the trumpet sounded very formal and when the man was done playing he shouted out in a thunderous voice that could have probably been heard above water. "KING OF MOONLIGHT AND GUEST" after speaking he stepped aside and my two disciples stepped forward with Scream holding the banners pole from the left and Chucky holding it from the right.
When my disciples parted, I willed the banner back into my inventory and stepped forward as Arthur smiled down from his throne at my entrance and every Atlantean along with other people who were invited like me looked at my group with curious glances as they murmured amongst themselves.
