Kapitel 116: Meeting With Jellal

(Jason's POV)
"So...." I said as I sat across from Jellal, "Why am I here?"
We were in an abandoned cabin in the middle of the woods. Sorano guided me here to meet with Jellal alone. Meredy and Ultear were nowhere in sight. Sorano mentioned an errand they were sent to do.
Jella looked at me seriously, "I want to discuss the consequences of your incident with Grimoire Heart." He said
I raised an eyebrow, "What about it?"
"What you did to Zan-" He started
"Don't utter his name." I cut him off, "Trust me, I don't wanna hear it."
He sighed, "Alright." He said, "I apologize. But what happened with that guy. It sent Grimoire Heart a message. Hades is not happy and has placed a bounty on you."
I shrugged, "So?"
"It is not a good situation to be in." Jellal said, "You'll have a multitude of dark mages hunting you down. You'll be on the run."
I shook my head, "Nah." I said, "I'm not doing any running."
Jella leaned in on the table, "You don't understand." He said, "Grimoire Heart isn't the same they were before. The 7 Kin of Purgatory..."
"They're crippled." I said, "Meredy and Ultear are with you. That fucker is nearly dead. And I assume Caprico or Zoldeo are out of commission?"
He gave me a serious look, "Seems that despite knowing most of that, you are still unaware of anything." He said, "Yes. The majority of the Original 7 Kin of Purgatory are no longer there. But it doesn't mean they're crippled."
I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
He gestured to Sorano who was leaning against the wall. She was wearing her usual outfit as she looked at us with a sly smile.
"Oracion Seis is dismantled." He said, "They disbanded after Hades killed Brain. Why? I'm not sure what had happened and neither does Sorano. I assume they had some sort of disagreement."
Sorano nodded, "Yea. I think that too." She said, "It all happened too fast. It was war."
Jellal nodded, "Yea."
I looked at Jellal, "A war between two of the Baram Alliance?" I said, "What the hell caused it?"
He shook his head, "I don't know." He said, "This was after I confronted Grimoire Heart and Hades. After my confrontation a couple of years ago, Meredy and Ultear defected and joined me. That left a hole in their main force."
"They were short to 5 of the 7 Kin." Sorano said, "But after the War, we killed 2 more. Kain and Zoldeo."
I raised an eyebrow, "Is that so?"
Jellal nodded, "That just left Rustyrose, Azuma, and Zancrow." He said, "And with you, it just left Azuman and Rustyrose. However, that was just of the original 7."
I looked at him, "What are you saying?" I asked, "They got more?"
He nodded again, "After the war with Oracion Seis..." He started, "Cobra and Midnight were recruited as replacements for Ultear and Meredy. As for the other 2, Hades replaced them with unknown powerful mages. As for this 3rd replacement....I'm not so sure. But from what I can gather, Hades will in fact replace him."
Cobra and Midnight were recruited to Grimoire Heart? Well, If I'm honest, that's a pretty hefty recruitment. And there are 2 unknown mages that are also in the 7 Kin. I do remember The Thunder God Tribe mentioning something about not recognizing the other member back when I fought the piece of shit. But he had retreated before being confronted. Was that the unknown member? It could've been Cobra or Midnight if they didn't recognize him.
Either way, this is all news to me. I have no idea what's going on. The state of the world is all over the place. It's not even making sense to me.
First, I fight a Tartaros that is weakened. A member of Diabolos was here in Ishgar. Oracion Seis and Grimoire Heart fought in a war. What the hell is even going on?
If things are this chaotic, I would Imagine Alvarez showing up out of nowhere and declare war or something. It is really confusing me.
I looked at Jellal, "Okay." I said, "What does any of that got to do with me? Aside from the bounty."
Jellal looked at me, "I have a feeling that the more incidents you cause, the more attention you'll get to yourself." He said, "You already made a big impact in defeating Tartaros and rewriting those books of Zeref. If you fight a war with Grimoire Heart the way they are now..."
I raised an eyebrow, "Let me guess." I said, "I'll get the attention of Zeref."
He nodded, "Yes." He said, "Exactly that."
I sighed and leaned back, "Okay." I said, "What of it?"
He looked at me with a surprised face, "What do you mean?" He said, "If you get the attention of the Black Wizard, you'll be in danger!"
I shrugged, "I doubt it." I said, "Besides, this is what you want, right? Your whole purpose to atone for your sins, is to hunt Zeref down and defeat him. Isn't this a great opportunity for you? You'll use me as bait for you to fulfill your mission."
He gave me a serious look, "Whatever my goals are...." he started, "They're of no concer-"
I stood up, "Shut the fuck up." I said, "I don't give a shit about what your goals are. If you plan on using me as bait for your little dance with that black-haired fuckface, then I can let you know right here and now. Go fuck yourself."
He stood up as well and gave me a serious glare, "I'd watch my tone if I were you." He said seriously, "I'm only trying to help you."
I gave him a smirk, "Help?" I said, "I don't need help. I'm gonna tell you what's gonna happen, Jellal. I'm gonna walk out of this shitty ass cabin and go on about my day, and if Grimoire Heart sends their goons to mess with me, I'll simply kill them all. If you have a problem with any of that, try to stop me. I dare you. In fact, I encourage you to do something. Go on, just make my motherfucking day."
I turned around and made my way to the door.
"You think I'm gonna let you try to pull some strings and use me?" I said as I walked out the door, "Think again, asshole."
"You can go fuck yourself."
