The sea, once a mesmerizing expanse of cerulean, had churned with a furious froth of whitecaps as if the ocean itself had been stirred to life by the encroaching tempest. Each wave had risen like a titan, crashing against the hull with a resounding fury, sending plumes of icy spray cascading over the deck.
