Kapitel 25: a majestic dance

I left my room and noticed people urgently leaving their rooms, clearly alarmed by the commotion. Within seconds, the floor was evacuated. I dodged a shot, glancing at the wall to see a small hole where a bullet had passed through. Then, a barrage of gunfire erupted, turning the hallway into a chaotic dance of bullets and movement.

After a while, the bullets ceased. "Aren't they afraid of being discovered or what the hell...? Or... have I gotten involved with people with power in the country...? That's a possibility," I said, my curiosity piqued.

From the elevator and stairs, dozens of armed soldiers appeared, their guns trained on me. It seemed the person behind this had considerable influence, enough to stage such a public attack. I smiled broadly and announced, "Well gentlemen!! Let's start the dance of the day!"

I began to walk toward them, unbothered by the hail of bullets. My body was riddled with bloody holes, but I continued moving forward calmly. As they ran out of bullets and scrambled to reload, I surged forward with supernatural speed, tearing through their ranks with savage precision. I grabbed a soldier's head and hurled him out of a window, then latched onto another and devoured his neck, blood spraying like a geyser.

The hallway was now a slaughterhouse, with blood and dismembered bodies strewn across the floor. The soldiers had been reduced to shapeless masses, a testament to the ferocity of the battle. "Have they evacuated the entire hotel...?" I mumbled in annoyance, just before dodging a bullet that nearly hit my face.

I turned to see a man with a large sniper rifle, clearly a professional killer. He looked to be in his 40s, with shoulder-length hair and a face marked by scars. Dressed in a tight black suit, it was obvious he was in peak physical condition. "Haa...shit, now I have to kill a strange vampire guy...? This job sucks," he muttered, annoyed.

"Ha...this looks like it will be entertaining," I said, grinning broadly. I sprinted towards him, his sniper shots barely missing me. The force of his shots caused the ground to crack and created sonic booms, indicating his immense strength and precision.

"Nice gun, can you give it to me...? Maybe I'll give it to someone..." I taunted, easily dodging his attempts to hit me. I caught his fist mid-punch and added, "How boring..."

"Ha...fuck you...shoot!!" the man shouted, a wicked grin on his face. Suddenly, the floor beneath me heated up rapidly, and I felt an ultra-hot red laser graze my cheek. A man in a black suit and red-tinted glasses jumped onto our floor, firing beams from his eyes. Cyclops?.

I sighed, sidestepping another beam that melted the walls effortlessly. I swiftly closed the distance and delivered a powerful kick to the new guy's back, sending him flying through the wall and out of the building. The sniper guy chuckled, "Well...that was unexpected...you managed to hit that guy..."

"It wasn't difficult..." I replied, smiling as I dodged another sniper shot. I grabbed the sniper by the neck and pinned him to the wall. "Well...you are useful...give me information." I bit into his neck, drinking his blood to gain access to his memories. His screams echoed through the floor as I drained him, absorbing not just his life but his knowledge as well.

Memories flooded my mind, hazy but filled with key words and images.

"Bolivar Trask..." I muttered with a smirk, tossing the sniper's lifeless body aside. It was clear now—I had crossed paths with a man who wanted nothing less than the total eradication of mutants. But why was he so interested in the F gene?

"Maybe he wants to create Sentinels that can adapt...wait, the F gene made that girl adapt," I mused, a laugh bubbling up as the pieces clicked together. "Sentinels that kill mutants and can adapt to any power thrown at them. That's a terrifying prospect. But then again, what if the F gene isn't adaptive on its own? What if that girl was just a freak occurrence?"

If the F gene really did grant adaptability, and if Trask could harness it, he'd have the ultimate weapon against mutants. "Sentinels with the F gene...that could spell trouble."

I picked up the massive sniper rifle, feeling its weight and balance. It was a beast of a weapon, capable of obliterating a car with a single shot. "This could come in handy."

With the sniper slung over my shoulder, I moved toward the elevator. The hallway was eerily quiet, the aftermath of my rampage echoing in the stillness. People had cleared out quickly, but the soldiers outside wouldn't be so easily deterred.

"Time for some action," I muttered, pressing the button for the first floor.

As the elevator descended to the first floor, I noticed the sniper rifle beside me. Glancing over, I could see some bullets left in it—perfect.

As the elevator doors opened onto the first floor, I was met with a sight of dozens of armed soldiers. With a smirk, I aimed the gun at them with one hand.

"Hey, fancy some heavy artillery?" I quipped.

I pulled the trigger, unleashing a powerful shot that deformed the ground and tore through the air. A sonic explosion reverberated in the elevator as several soldiers fell in its wake. Moving swiftly, I took down more soldiers with the powerful gun.

Afterward, I placed the gun on the ground carefully. It might come in handy later or make a nice gift for someone else.

Rushing towards a group of soldiers, I dispatched them quickly, leaving blood splattered across the ceiling and walls. When a soldier shot at me, I snatched the bullets out of the air with surprising speed. The look of horror on his face was priceless as I returned the bullets, piercing his body and sending him crashing to the ground.

Taking a moment to glance through the door, I noticed several cars outside. It seemed that in this universe, some members of the X-Men had been captured by Bolivar Trask and turned into weapons. Cyclops and—

My thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the sound of a wall being destroyed, followed by menacing growls. As the dust settled, I saw a figure with blue fur crouched like an animal, glaring at me with anger. He charged towards me, but I managed to dodge his attacks, witnessing how effortlessly he tore through a wall with his claws. Is that Beast?

It appeared that this universe was indeed quite troublesome.

Dodging blows from the beast, I landed a solid hit on his chest, sending him crashing out of the hotel door, which groaned under the impact.

After the chaos subsided, I took a moment to clean the dust off my gloves.

I heard a booming voice coming from outside, amplified by a megaphone.

"Terrorist! You're surrounded! Surrender peacefully, or we'll send our team in!" the voice commanded. I couldn't help but burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the area.

"Terrorist? Hahaha! Well, I suppose that's partially true!" I chuckled, shaking my head. It seemed I had stumbled upon the X-Men—or at least, individuals who might have been part of them in another reality.

Taking a moment to stretch, I narrowly avoided a claw aimed straight at my face. With a swift movement, I grabbed the attacker's arm and tossed them out of the building, causing the door to buckle under the force.

As I stepped outside, I found myself faced with a multitude of soldiers, their weapons trained on me. Among them, I spotted the Cyclops of this universe, seemingly unfazed by the fall. Not bad at all...

I glanced at the soldiers, noticing bystanders capturing the chaos on their cell phones. It seemed my plans for that mission might be put on hold... at least for now.

With a resigned sigh, I dashed forward, swiftly appearing behind the man with the megaphone. In one fluid motion, I sliced across his chest, blood gushing freely. Taking a moment to drink his blood and consume his soul, I then swiftly dispatched the surrounding soldiers, moving faster than the eye could follow.

Snatching up some weapons, I returned fire, causing the soldiers to drop like flies. I deftly dodged a red beam, then dashed towards its source, sinking my teeth into his neck. Though the blood flowed freely, I found it odd that he remained silent, gritting his teeth instead.

I swiftly finished off his neck, indifferent to his potential as an X-Man. Food was food, and souls were souls.

Cyclops collapsed to the ground, clutching his mangled neck, his movements ceasing as blood pooled around him. It seemed I'd taken out an X-Man... quite the unexpected turn.

[You have leveled up!]

Well, that's a surprise. It's been a while since I've seen that.

[Upgrades: Increased strength, increased speed, increased senses!

Alucard (Hellsing): 2 / 30!]

Looks like I've got quite a climb ahead... 28 levels to go. This is going to take... quite a bit of time.

I deftly dodged the charging beast, moving as fast as a bullet. Grabbing its arm, I snapped it with ease, eliciting roars of pain. Slamming its head against the concrete, I watched as cracks spread like cobwebs. Much better.

Seizing its neck, I began to drain its blood, feeling its teeth sink into my neck in retaliation. Ignoring the pain, I continued until its movements ceased, another soul entering my being. My neck swiftly regenerated, and I released the beast's corpse.

Glancing skyward, I took in a deep breath. The air was filled with the screams of civilians, amidst a landscape littered with corpses and blood.

"Seems like Bolivar's got his fingers in this... Wonder if he's got more mutants on his payroll...? Quicksilver could be a real problem." I mused, pondering the implications of this chaotic encounter. While the guy in the black suit might not be Bolivar Trask himself, he could very well be working with him, especially with those supernatural powers.

With a resigned sigh, I decided it was time to depart. Fortunately, I had a secret hideout ready for just such occasions.

///

"John, John, John, John, John, John, it's me, Alucard. Can I come in?" I called out, knocking on his door repeatedly. I was at my workplace.

John opened the door and gave me a weary look. "Now what the hell did you do? Did you end up on television"

"I'm famous?! Did I win something?" I asked, surprised. John's annoyance was palpable as he motioned for me to come inside.

Entering the bar, I exclaimed, "Well, did I win a prize?!"

"Stop messing around. Look at that," John grumbled, pointing to the television. It was tuned to a news channel.

"A terrorist terrorized a hotel in..." I watched the news with amusement. It seemed that whoever I was up against had considerable influence if they could manipulate news channels.

"What the hell did you do now?" John asked, pouring himself a glass of whiskey.

"Nothing, just some soldiers barged into my penthouse and shot at me. As a good citizen, I defended myself. I mean, who wouldn't?" I replied casually, taking a seat.

John sighed, "Now you're considered a terrorist... across the entire damn country."

"Across the country?! Great!" I exclaimed, finding the prospect exciting.

"How the hell is that cool?!" John retorted, clearly exasperated. He sighed again, "Work is canceled. It's too dangerous to go out. Plus, you might not even be safe on the streets."

"Well, I'm not bothered by that," I replied, nonchalantly grabbing a bottle of wine and taking a swig. John eyed me wearily, "Right. I've got the weapons you asked for ready. But, aren't they a bit... excessive? They're huge."

"It doesn't matter. Show them to me," I said with a grin.

"Follow me," John said, leading me to a different area of the bar. He pressed a button under a table, and a section of the wall slid open, revealing a secret door.

"Wow, I didn't know you were so futuristic," I remarked with curiosity.

"We mercenaries have to evolve with each generation," John replied, a hint of pride in his voice.

"Like Pokémon?" I joked, but John just looked confused.

"Come on, you know what Pokémon is, right? Pikachu?" I tried to explain, but John shook his head in bewilderment.

I sighed and said, "Well, let's go get my beauties."

John took me to an underground section of the bar. Everything always had to be underground, didn't it?

As we walked down a hallway, John opened a door, revealing an incredible sight—hundreds of weapons meticulously arranged on the walls.

"Ah, right," my shadow shifted, revealing the massive sniper I'd acquired at the hotel. John looked at it and shook his head, seemingly unfazed.

I grabbed the sniper and asked, "What do you think this thing is made of?"

"Leave it on the table. I can't even lift something like that," John said, walking over to a briefcase on a nearby table. I placed the sniper down, noticing how the table slightly buckled under its weight.

Moving to stand beside John, I admired the two massive guns. Damn, they are so...peak.

I grabbed and examined the two large guns. One had "Jesus Christ is in Heaven Now" written on it—a beautiful piece, the Jackal. The other was the "Casull," a weapon with a length of 39cm, a true beast.

They were exactly as I had requested them to be made—perfect.

"Good, perfect," I said with a satisfied smile.

"The gun magazines?" I inquired eagerly.

"Wait," John replied, disappearing momentarily before returning with a small box containing plenty of magazines for the guns. Perfect.

I grabbed some and loaded the guns.

"Making them was kind of complicated. Several expensive materials were needed, but I managed to create them. Now you owe me one, you know?" John said with a hint of annoyance.

"Yes, yes," I acknowledged, still admiring the weapons. They were truly beautiful. I couldn't wait to try them out.

I sighed as I heard a noise in the distance.

"Hey John, do you have other places besides this to give jobs?" I asked curiously.

"Yes, I have another place in the city, but I don't use it much. This place is the busiest," John replied casually.

"Perfect!" I exclaimed. Without warning, I aimed behind me and fired. A guy appeared out of nowhere, but with a hole in his head. He fell dead to the ground.

"Ha, shit... I shouldn't have let you in," John muttered, clearly annoyed, as he grabbed a gun.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to come say hi, haha!" I chuckled, still aiming at the door. I fired again, hitting several people who seemed to have suits that made them invisible. They fell to the ground with holes in their heads and bodies.

Suddenly, I saw a rather large person, even bigger than me, running down the hallway towards me. I smiled and fired several shots. The bullets hit their target and the giant fell to the ground with holes riddling his body. Fool, at least cover yourself.

I sighed and looked down the hallway as I reloaded my weapons. Dozens of soldiers were entering. I continued shooting, blood splattered across the hallway. They seemed stubborn in their pursuit. But the strange thing was that I didn't feel them. Were there others flying in the sky or something...?

It's true, Bolívar, I think he captured some mutants. So far, I've encountered Cyclops and Beast, although I've already dealt with them...

I picked my way through the carnage, bodies littering the ground with bullet holes. When I emerged from the underground, everything seemed normal. I smiled and walked calmly, but suddenly I noticed a peculiar little movement. I fired in that direction, but it was not necessary: an intruder fell dead. That suit might be a problem for someone else, but my heightened senses helped me.

I looked around and saw dozens of soldiers with guns pointed at me, their invisibility clearly disabled. I sighed and said, "It looks like they need... some good cannons..."
