Chapter 2
While walking outside of the office he was happy. Mainly, because now he could openly go to the library and start to show changes. On the other hand he was worried about fate, because it was a real thing.
But there was no Konohamaru running into the office and picking a fight with him. Maybe it was just a small matter. Though he would still keep an eye on it.
After all canon Naruto Uzumaki was mostly shackled by the chains of fate. Mostly because Sasuke survived.
'Naruto wanted to create his own path. But in the end he became what he hated.' At the end the Canon Naruto was just another cog in the machine, and changed nothing.
There was a reason even with naive and stupid ideas, Hashirama Senju was able to maintain peace. And the reason was none other than his younger brother Tobirama Senju. But the canon Naruto had no one like that. Sasuke too busy with looking for strong enemies, while Shikamaru was just too lazy to do much other than put a duck tape on most problems to solve it.
'It doesn't matter. I have to fix few problems myself.' He thought to himself as he started to roof hop toward him house.
'Still I have mixed feelings about Sasuke.' In a way while Canon Naruto was shackled by fate, Sasuke was a puppet getting controlled by others.
When Sasuke Uchiha was born he was the second son of the Uchiha patriarch, the spare heir. But with his talent that paled in comparison of his elder brother he lived his life getting compared with his brother.
Next the Uchiha clan's destruction. Itachi manipulated Sasuke into blindly hating him, and closing the door for Sasuke to look around for answers.
Orochimaru using Itachi's name and enticing Sasuke with more power. Result being him leaving the leaf village. He was even willing to give up his body to Orochimaru for his revenge.
After getting rid of Orochimaru and eventually getting his revenge, he fell into the hands of the coward named Obito Uchiha. Who decided to manipulate Sasuke to join a terrorist group. He turned Sasuke into a terrorist, an international criminal. Well at least he was able to kill Danzo.
At the end when Sasuke was trying to free himself we realised Itachi even wanted to brainwash Sasuke using Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan. And barely got saved because canon Naruto using Talk no jutsu anywhere and everywhere.
'Even I feel headache just thinking about it all.'
For Naruto one of the biggest advantages were his talent and potential. He was the reincarnation of Asura but unlike other Asura reincarnations he had more talent and potential than Indra reincarnations . He probably forgot about Hashirama Senju.
"I am home." Naruto said entering his apartment. While thinking about all that he decided to increase shadow clones amount. As far as he could see 10 shadow clones were not much of a problem and decided to increase it to 15 for a week, and only then increase the amount.
'I have to solve Naruto's problems first.' One of the problems Naruto had was his concentration capability. Because of the previous Naruto sitting still and reading felt boring to him, even if the contents were very interesting.
'We will be maxing out our leaf concentration exercise.' He said to himself, after all the second perk of the exercise was to increase concentration. He was also going to learn to meditate.
"Shadow clone jutsu." He would try to do that without saying the jutsu's name out loud. But that was for the future.
More than a dozen shadow clones appeared and started to do the leaf exercise. Every 10 minutes or so he changed the shadow clones. Some were meditating and some were practicing leaf exercise. All the while the real Naruto was looking for his academy books.
He also kept in mind that there were shadow clones looking around in the village.
About 10 minutes later he had all the shinobi academy books from the first year to the final year. He decided to forget about the limit he put a few minutes ago and make another dozen of shadow clones.
While half of the shadow clones were meditating the other half were going through the book.
'My Taijutsu is trash...' He said to himself as he went through Konoha Taijutsu scroll. He had a lot to do and fix. He was grateful for shadow clones jutsu even more.
For the next 3 hours he was busy inside his apartment. He was busy with all that. Every dozen or so minutes one or two shadow clones would dispel themselves and let him make more. In that way the amount of fatigue did not reach high.
He also found out how helpful meditation was. The shadow clones helped him calm himself down and focus. It would take some more time but the 3 hours was more like 30 hours of reading.
One of the things he fixed was his reading speed. Naruto knew how to read and write. But his reading was very slow and writing more like children scratching. His reading speed was now on a satisfactory level.
"Well, you all don't dispel after 10 minutes. And don't start to sleep while meditating." He said to his shadow clones as he left his apartment. It was little past 10 in the morning.
He decided to go the library. First to see the place.
Soon he was on his way to the library, by roof hopping that is. He was already annoyed with the looks they give him. He could easily ignore it, but he was not a masochist, nor he had tendencies like that.
"So, it's the library. It's been some times." He said to himself. The past Naruto pranked few times there, but he never entered the shinobi section.
When he entered it subconsciously he felt eyes on him. And he was not even on the shinobi section. He looked around looking for interesting books. He picked up few cooking books and books about famous shinobis.
One to make better food. He was only so so at cooking. While the previous Naruto was good if he didn't start fire.
The book about famous shinobis was for him to have better knowledge. After all he already knew the anime didn't have all the informations.
He decided to make two shadow clones and let them read books in the reading section.
While his main body decided to go to the shinobi section of the library.
"How can I help you?" A girl with weird glasses asked Naruto.
"Hi, I am Naruto. I want to know what books are available for a new genin like me?" She looked at him up to down.
"I am Shiho the librarian here. And you can read most of the books from here." She said to Naruto.
"Huh? But what about Chunin and Jonin?" He asked her. He thought there were sections of Chunins and Jonins as well.
"These books are for all ranks. And they don't have different sections because most books are not that secret." She said fixing her glasses, which shined.
"Besides that there are only low level jutsu scrolls here. What did you expect, most shinobi learn higher level jutsu from their jonin sensei or seniors. Other than that completing missions also gives merit points, other than money. And most shinobis use their merit points to get new jutsus. They could get new jutsus as prize as well." She started to talk about the merit point system.
"You can read most books, except jutsu scrolls. You would have to get permission from me before you open them."
"Thanks for telling me all that. It helped me a lot." Naruto said with a smile. In a way he found out another new thing and informations that he didn't know that.
"Well, then you can look around. And if you have anything to ask come to me." She said sitting back at her chair.
Naruto decided to look around and see which kinds of books were there. Most of the books were interesting. He found books talking about different places interesting.
'There is an entire shelf talking about Will of Fire!' Naruto exclaimed in his mind seeing that. He knew Third Hokage was obsessed with that but... He was speechless seeing that.
He picked up a book of shinobi rules full version. The academy only had the short version of it. He also picked books about the Hokages in far more detail than the academy. Lastly a book on how to become a perfect shinobi.
One jutsu picked his interest. It was a D rank ninjutsu Shunshin jutsu. Because of his so so chakra control and bad Taijutsu he did not try to find more or new things on them.
'Genjutsu is more of a pipe dream than anything.' He knew because of the Nine tail sealed inside him having precise chakra control was impossible. Especially when small amount of Nine tails chakra mix with his time to time making it even harder.
He paused, just after thinking about it.
'That's it! I can't do it but my Shadow clones will be able to do it.' His eyes shined thinking about it. He had problem because of Kurama sealed in him, but his shadow clone didn't. And he could train them to have great chakra control. It would let him use Genjutsu and medical jutsu.
'Even if I can't do the memory of it will let my Shadow clones do that.'
He decided that he would see if he could learn his academy 2 Genjusu before getting more.
He sat in the reading section and started to read. He started with shinobi rules and to say he was shocked was an understatement. He wanted to laugh out loud not caring about where he was.
'Even Root shinobis have more freedom than this bullshit!' He also knew if anyone were to follow every rule he was going to get betrayed soon. Not to mention the discrimination he would face. The perfect example was Chunin Kakashi Hatake.
'Then again my luck is so good that I will very likely have him as my Jonin sensei. At his time he didn't care about teammates a bit, and he will give us lecture on teamwork on the very first day. Even when he knows that we don't get well together.'
'And if that is not enough he already has his favourite, Sasuke. I wonder if he will even try to train us.'
He found few contradictory rules but to him it was nothing more than a sham, for higher ups to control their shinobi.
He soon lost interest in the book and decided to look in to the books. At the end of an hour he only found the books on Hokages interesting. Even the perfect Shinobi book was more of a waste of time. If Naruto were to follow it he would have no time to train and waste his time helping others.
A little while later he left the library.
'In the end cooking book was the best.' He smiled while thinking about it. He was also happy learning some popular shinobi names. But much to his disappointment most old shinobi informations were very little.
Like Chiyo of Suna village was an user of puppet technique with poison. But at the same time Hatake Sakumo was a great Swordsman. And that was it.
'Well I have books to look through and a hefty lunch to make.' With that in his mind he went back to his apartment.

"That was great." Naruto said as he leaned back on his bed thinking about the lunch he had. Even now he could feel it on his tongue. It was great! Even he was delighted at that time to find out his great talent for cooking.
His apartment still had two dozen shadow clones of his. Half of thye meditating and the other half reading his academy books. He was pretty sure with the help of Iruka sensei it would be done before the week ends.
"Hey boss! Look at it! You will be shocked!" A shadow clone entered his apartment in a hurry. He had a massive smile on his face.
His frog wallet was almost overflowing with money.
"While looking around I found a 100 Ryo and thought what to do. Next I thought about testing my luck and went to a roulette wheel. And this is the result!" His happiness was palpable making all the shadow clones smile in happiness as well.
'It seems I have the same luck as Naruto in gambling.' Naruto also smiled in happiness.
"Great job! Now we don't have to worry about the extra cost."
Naruto hid the money under his bed. It was a total of one hundred thousand Ryo. Even Naruto wondered for a moment, if earnings money was so easy why should he become a shinobi. It was only for a moment and he asked himself jokingly. He knew there was far more important things than money.
"Well, you guys, bye. I will be going to meet Iruka sensei." He said goodbye to his shadow clones as he left the apartment. Only little rays of the sun could be seen.
Most of his shadow clones that were outside did a good job and found interesting tidbits of information though nothing big.
One of the interesting information he found was the fact there were no police force. Yes, he knew the Uchiha police force was no longer available. But there was no other police force. And only because of his knowledge of the show he knew that there were ANBU members guarding the village.
'They are so bad at it that normal animals can find dead body before them.' He thought about it because of Hayate's death and ANBU finding the body in the noon, while the battle happened in the midnight.
He soon reached the Ichiraku Ramen shop. He could see his sensei there.
"Three bowl of Miso ramen. Iruka sensei is treating me." Naruto said entering the shop, a grin on his face.
"Naruto. Hey, when did I say it's my treat." Iruka said with a smile ruffling Naruto's hair a little. Even then he didn't say to stop Naruto's ramen order.
"You know me. Besides three ramens will barely be enough. Old man do it fast! I am starving." Naruto said sitting next to him.
"Coming right up. And Naruto you are always starving when it comes to ramen." Teuchi said with a laugh busy making ramen.
"Well, your ramen is the best in the world what other reason there is." Naruto replied.
"So, Naruto what are you up to?" Iruka asked looking at Naruto. Both of them were waiting for their food to come.
"After meeting with you I went to meet with Old man Hokage."
Iruka looked at him with a little concern. Especially because of the last night's incident.
"Don't worry I don't care about that. It's just a small problem. I am still going to become Hokage. I even asked the old man about it." Naruto said reassuring him.
"Is it now? What did he told you?" Iruka asked a little interested.
"Hehe, he told me to work on my foundation and read books. He even told me to ask for his or your help in needed." Naruto said to Iruka.
"Iruka sensei from tomorrow morning I will go to your house you will have to teach me all that. I don't have time before team selection." Naruto said looking at his eyes asking.
Iruka smiled and ruffled his hair.
"You don't have to worry. Now that I have time and it is not considered favouritism I will help you with my best."
"Here's your order." At that time Teuchi came to give their orders.
"You know the shado clone jutsu is great, it gives me the memory of the clone." Naruto said bragging about it.
"I know that. That reminds me don't make too many shadow clones at once or dispel them at the same time. It can become very dangerous. There is a reason it is a forbidden jutsu." Iruka warned Naruto about the danger of shadow clone jutsu.
"You don't have to worry about that. But you know because of that I can learn things much faster and easier." Naruto grinned.
"What?!" Iruka almost shouted shocked to learn that. Iruka thought for few moments and understood if Naruto could do that it would be a great advantage for Naruto. But even then he warned him again and again.
Both of them talked and ate ramen. And only after the sky was dark Naruto and Iruka left the Ramen shop.
"It seems I will not have to worry about it. Both of them getting well together. Iruka as a teacher is doing far better job taking care of Naruto than I thought." Hiruzen said stopping his peeking at Iruka and Naruto's conversation. He was looking at their conversation from the very beginning.
And he was very satisfied with the results.
The last night's incident without any doubt put a shadow on Naruto. And his worry was the following changes. But it seems he had nothing to worry. Naruto was even more determined to become Hokage, not only that this time Naruto was even trying to change himself and work even harder to reach his goal. Especially the trick with the shadow clone jutsu.
"One or two will not be much of a problem." He said glancing at his two shadow clones that were almost done with all of his paperwork. He himself was grateful for Naruto finding a way like that.
He looked at the report and put it down. It was also a good thing that Naruto went to the library. The report was about the books Naruto read. And he was okay with that.
"Truly you are something else." He said with a smile. Though it was also a way for him to not think about letting Naruto go through all that in the previous night.
Mizuki's plan was very easy to see through. Not to mention spying around the Hokage building was a very stupid move, especially when you are already in a watch list.
The entire thing was a test for Naruto. Before that he even checked the seal and at the time even had sealing squads ready. But at that time everything went far better than the plan.
Putting down his smoking pipe he decided to go back to home, and spend time with his grandson Konohamaru for a change.
