Kapitel 3: Chapter 3: Where?
I wake up and see the room looking bright red, and the sky is bright red from the sunset lighting up the room. I looked around and didn't see him. I got up from the bed, and my bare feet touched the floor—'hmm...' The floor should be cold; why can't I feel it? I brushed it off, thinking maybe I was just imagining it.
I walk out of the white room. The hallway is black in color, 'a castle'. The windows had curtains open, and light from the sunset made the hallway eerie. I shook off my goosebumps and proceeded to walk down the empty hallway. In the middle part, there's a wide staircase that goes down. At the end of the hallway, there's another room. I skipped it, then went down the staircase. The door leads outside, and the dark wall paintings, vases, curtains, and chandeliers that I passed through are well maintained. Why haven't I met a maid or other people?
I passed by the Great Hall; it is majestic. I have never been to a place like this before. I travel a lot, being the count's only daughter. I went to tea parties, Balls, salons, and Auction houses. I have never been to this place before. The carpeted hallway could make my bare feet stay comfy. I walked more, which led me to a door, which I opened. The Courtyard; has an amazing Fountain with intricate details that is functioning, flowers are beautifully pruned, trees have stunning blossoms, and the most eye-catching Gingko tree.
'It's my tree, My beloved Gingko tree—with one look, I know it's mine. The feeling whenever I see it makes my eyes watery and warm, comforting to all of my transversing every single world I went through. I always planted and loved a Gingko tree. I'm at peace whenever it shades me from the sun, the hardships, and the tiring adventures I go on. I feel relaxed, and it reminds me of my original life: whenever I'm crying and in pain, I always run to my grandfather, and I always see him near his own gingko tree while taking care of it. I seek comfort from him. When he died and I inherited the mansion with the gingko tree, I took care of it.
I walk up to it, the roots are thriving, my bare foot gliding to the grass, the smell of the cold wind night, the stars twinkle, and I look at the yellow leaves of my Gingko tree. I got closer and touched the trunk; it felt warm. I closed my eyes and calmed myself. I could hear someone coming near me. I stayed still, looked up, and thought, 'Why have I gone back? ' I have so many questions I'm going to ask him. I can hear his steps on the grass, and then he stops. I hesitated asking him because I could feel that he was nervous, I knew him when we were younger, I can tell.
I turned around, and I just now realize I'm wearing a white sheer dress like those in the movies when the dead wife is portrayed really cringy. To top it off, this is my favorite type of clothing in this life—I wish I'd never gone back. I hated this.
I looked at him, he looked back at me, and I smiled. "How are you? How many years have passed? You are probably the king now, knowing how talented you are. How is Noelle? She most definitely tried to protect me." He looked at me as I talked. I stopped. "Why aren't you saying something?" I asked, walking up to him. He looked down, and his lips quivered. "Why did you do that?" I looked at him startled and asked, "Did what?" I smiled and talked back, clentched my wrist. 'He knew'
