Kapitel 6: Shaded Shadows

So, shadows are kind of a strange concept. You could ask people about them and they would tell you (probably something about shadows, I'm not sure, people are weird and go off on strange rhh (sorry) random tangents that don't make sense) a very acceptable answer is a lack of light. An absence of light also sort of works depending on the situation because light has this funny tendency to bounce all over the place reflecting itself into shadows making them less dark and their contents more visible and less shadowed. Like the shade of trees, you would think that a giant shadow would be darker in the middle because the center is that much farther away from the edge and the light shouldn't be able to reach, but light goes "Hahaha, no," and it bounces it's way down through the leaves from the treetops and gets all the way down to the ground. And that's why it's called shade. Just kidding, I don't know why they call it shade, or need another name for the same thing, but they do it all the time, so it's probably necessary. Maybe they just wanted a word that depicted less deep shadows that were lighter and larger and less intimidating. Maybe it's just me but I feel like shade is all nice and happy and peaceful, and shadows are dark and deep and shady, like you're going to get jumped in an alley way or dragged into the shadows.
