Without the need to eat or sleep, and no mission assigned for a long stretching period of time, Shinigami found themselves bored most of the time but it was how they utilized this 'boring' time that created the difference between Shinigami.

Mama Murphy from fallout 4 has the ability to see into the future, or the master from fallout one had psychic abilities as well. Or Lorenzo's Crown from fallout 4, but i'm will to say that the crown is alien tech. Mind you i'm not talking about magic like in Skyrim more like unexplainable abilities that go beyond the physical.
