Not really, he’s not being proactive because je doesnt really care anout whats going on and plus there is no way for him to deal with Light Yagami when he’s not trying his best. Light isnt someone you can hold back on or be half hearted with. If you hold back or leave any weaknesses or openings out in the open, he will eat you for lunch. L from deathnote is on par if not smarter than Loght and yet he was getting ragdolled by Light all the way til his death, but he had a little something for Light afterwarfs tho

Well he didnt start off evil, he was more like an indifferent guy who was sitting ag the oeak of everything with no one to rival him or get his adrenaline pumping. Kind of like sosuke Aizen from bleach. They are both the most talented beings with no competition that life started to become boring and thus they both though “why not become a God”. …. But to get back to Lights personality, he later “evolved” from being just an indifferent perfect kid to someone evil due to the “influence” of his power over death of people by a single swipe of his pen. With him being able change the world with just a single motion of his hand and having so many people finding out about him praising him/worshiping him, its inly natural for his evi tk inflate to that of “god status”. But the problem started to morph into evilness when puny humans he can wipe out with the swipe of his hand tried to fight against “god”. Thats when the evil came into place… Long story short, lights personality evolved with 3 stage. Stage 1: indifference, boredom, mundane Stage 2: God complex, Justice oriented, devious, excited, 2 faced, ambitious, hasty Stage 3: Evil, deceitful, scheming, murderous, obsessed, apthetic, manipulative, vengeful, competitive

However, he's not a carbon copy of Nagumo. His demeanor is composed and confident, devoid of Nagumo's self-indulgent attitude and overconfidence. His charisma is observable, but it seems natural, as if it's an ingrained part of him, unlike Nagumo's charisma, which appears to have been cultivated over time. Yagami's charisma is simply captivating. His intellect is also extremely impressive; not only are his assumptions about the school impressive, but he has also drawn various conclusions about me, the student council, and Nagumo.

Lol this is just how it is with fanfics related to popular MC’s. For some reason authors like to nerf our favorite characters for whatever random reason🤦🏾♂️….its as if all anime fanific authors came to some kind of character nerfing agreement or something
