Here, a common ingredient for a potion can be ‘the heartstring of a werewolf.’ Laws are written by the powerful — for the powerful. And when necessary, they are simply broken. My main character is a child of this system. He does not fight it because it suits him. He is pure-blooded, he is strong, he is at the top. He is cynical, paranoid, and pragmatic to the core. He will not defend the abstract rights of Muggle-borns — simply because he does not believe in such things as ‘universal equality.’ So if you are looking for a story about a heroic beacon fighting for justice and equal rights, this is not it.
