"Hey, Saphira," Ridge called after a few minutes.
"You were about to say something a while ago before we created the barrier, what was it?"
Saphira's eyes shifted upon hearing this.
She didn't expect for someone in their group to suddenly bring it up.
"Well I..."
She paused, she was trying hard to think on how or where she should start with it.
It was the greatest secret she had been hiding towards them.
Even though she was already fine, she has calmed down a lot.
She just couldn't bring herself to say it.
Because of how unbelievable it would be.
She can pursuade them that it was the truth but then she was not confident that she can explain it properly.
They all watched her open her mouth before closing it again.
She did this for a few more times.
Seeing all their anticipating eyes, she bit her lower lip.
Seeing her being undecided, Hunter remembered her words back on the ninth death anniversary of the elite squad.
"It's unfair Hunter, it really is. It is also heavy, too heavy. Your trust I can't break it. You'll get hurt."
He had been baffled by her words and if not for everything that the experienced over the past months, he knew he would have come up with an answer.
But because of so many things, he didn't get the chance to think deeper.
His golden brown eyes looked at her face that was looking hesitant.
'Could it be that her words back then are referring to this?' he asked Qirin inside him.
Qirin, who had been thinking about it and questioning Vermilion Bird, could only agree to him that it must be indeed regarding that matter.
Saphira swallowed hard and she took a deep breath before looking at them seriously.
Yet before she could even say a thing, they received a call.
Hunter brought out the orb and placed it in front of them.
"All heads are once again coming your way," Reginald said.
With this, it showed just how important Ardel's body is, even when they have not yet informed them about Draco Empire's decision, they were already sending such number and strength of people.
"There are about two hundred survivors together with the young emperor of Draco Empire, I am planning on letting them temporary take shelter in Vermin Kingdom," Saphira informed him after hearing that all heads are coming.
Even with their age, the heads are still among the strongest people of their empire.
Reginald blinked but he didn't need any more explanation, Hunter have briefed him already about the land's condition where Draco Empire is located.
Hearing her words, she knew he must have initiated this temporary measure. Because if it was not her, then the specific location wouldn't have been decided earlier on.
"Then I will inform the king of Vermin Kingdom at the same time I will deploy two other generals and some other knights to assist in guiding them to Vermin Kingdom."
"Beasts are the best means of transpo," Saphira added.
"I know, the ones I'll send are those that have flying inborn adn accompanying beasts," Reginald nodded his head.
They exchanged a few more words before eh call ended, Reginald informing them that the people will arrive in another day or two.
"Anyway, I will rest more and then by tomorrow, I will help in checking this land. I have suggested that you stay in Vermin Kingdom even though the barrier was already created because this place couldn't be lived on as of this moment. You understand that right?" Saphira said towards Zian.
"I do."
Miasma was all over the land. Buildings, Forests and other natural reservoirs could no longer be used.
If they are to stay here, even with teh barrier, they would surely die of hunger if not of beast attacks.
Saphira's suggestion is truly something their people needed.
Saphira nodded, "I will go and return to my rest. I want to purify this land after all."
She wanted the place to become a place where one could live once everything was over, purifying it was the best choice.
Yet because she had overestimated herself hours ago, she knew she needed plenty more of rest.
At the same time, she really was not yet ready to speak.
Even though she tried to push herself a lot of times, the words are always stuck on her throat.
She stood up and returned to where she was lying a while ago.
She closed her eyes but she didn't go to sleep yet.
Lily had been nagging her since Ridge raised the question.
'I told you, right now your guilt will start eating you up,' Lily instantly reprimanded.
She knew what emotions are swirling inside Saphira's heart.
'Back then it was your jealousy but you were able to control it. Do you think you would be able to control this?' she continued.
Vermilion Bird remained silent because even he has a few understanding to the conflict Saphira was currently in.
If there is this big lie that you allowed to be left behind, as time pass by, it becomes harder adn harder to actually justify why you left it alone.
'I know, Lily. I know,' Saphira replied.
'You know then what are you doing right now?' Lily was getting irritated.
Saphira's light ability became stronger since the beginning but if she were to be eaten by her guilt then all her hardwork to strengthen it will go to waste.
All her sacrifices and pain will be for nothing.
'I don't know how to start, that is the truth of the matter. I don't know what words to use in this situation,' she answered honestly.
Lily knew and understood where Saphira is coming from but the longer she waits the more she will be eaten by her guilt and the more the light ability will surely lessen.
Because guilt is a negative emotion that grows more and more as time pass by.
One will start having more negative thoughts and it would obstruct the light inside them.
