"A lightning strike?" Clyde instantly woke up and straightened his posture. "Why didn't I notice it?" He asked confusedly.

The guard bowed his head, literally betting his life on the line because Lucas promised he would 'deal' with him later if he failed to convince their boss that there was a thunder strike.

"P-pardon my mistake, but it seemed that you fell asleep so deeply after drinking, sir..."

And the boss foolishly believed him.

"Oh... You're right..." Clyde replied languidly without questioning further. His looming body sank back into the sofa as he pulled out his phone.

Almost emptying one and half a bottle of vodka in one go… he was lucky he only 'fell asleep' and not actually dying from alcohol poisoning.

He didn't have any other choice though, that small doctor warned him he had to stop smoking or he would kill his lungs faster.

The man then opened a private CCTV control app and made an access request to another camera.
