"You used me!" She yelled before he could continue. 

Her watery eyes spilled over and she groaned, wiping at her tears. She sat back down and shook her head. 

"You could forgive Rhys, but not me?" Damien asked. 

"How I handled things with Rhys isn't your business and it doesn't have a place in our conversation right now. You are two different men. Maybe it was a mistake to get involved with both of you at all. At least I know that when we were together, I was willing to ignore the stares, the concerns, the everything because I was sure what I felt was worth it. My heart ... my heart drove me forward, not some plot, not reason ... not ..." 

"If revenge had been my only goal, why would I have been with you in private, Beatrix? Why would I have shared myself with you like I did? There was no reason for it, but I did it, I was with you in all ways. It started on the worst premise, but I'm not sorry for that."
