Capítulo 58: Chapter 58: Asking Gwen out
Law who was currently more nervous than when he fought Dormammu saw Gwen by her locker in the high school hallway.
Law moved towards her nervously.
"Hey, Gwen"
"Hey Law, Nice of you to show up at school after a week." Gwen said with a chuckle
'Damn that lazy gigai, he just had one job of attending school and yet he failed at that.' Law thought
"I started my new job so I had to go there. The money that my grandparents had left me were about to be exhausted so I had to get myself a job. So I could not attend both school and do my job at the same time. But it's sorted as I would be working there after school from now on." Law said
"That's great Law!!" Gwen exclaimed in joy before asking him "So where did you get the job?"
"I am one of the tech guys at Frost Internationals." Law replied
"That's the company that released Facebook. They must be paying you quite a lot. But did not you want to be a doctor, how come you are working as a tech guy?" Gwen asked confused
"I can't be a doctor before I get my certification and I am pretty good with tech. Besides, they pay quite a lot." Law said
"Good for you, Law." Gwen said with a smile.
'Alright it's the moment of truth.' Law thought nervously
"So Gwen, I've been wanting to ask you something."
Gwen curious at his nervous tone asked "What is it, Law?"
"Well, um, You see...I have an off from work today so I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me today? Maybe to that new café downtown and then maybe catch a movie. Just the two...of us."
Gwen at first was curious why he was nervous if he just wanted to go to a cafe and a movie. Peter, Her, Harry and MJ were free today so they could very well go watch a movie.
But when she heard him say only the two of them, she understood his nervousness as she herself blushed a little.
Truth be told at first when she first saw Law, she thought of him as someone she would not like with those tattoos and all. He seemed like a guy who would do drugs.
But when she talked with him a bit and became friends with him, she kinda got attached to him. They share very similar interests especially in bio chemistry. Law was a genius in that field.
He was quite polite and always can make her laugh with the baddest of jokes.
Gwen answered without any hesitation.
"Law, I'd love to!"
"Great" Law said while giving himself a mental thumbs up for a job well done.
Peter who was eavesdropping on them from his locker felt pain in his heart while at the same time feeling happy for his friends.
Peter got too busy with his spiderman job that he forgot to ask Gwen out. He was going to ask her out soon but it was too late now.
Peter thought 'Even if I asked her out, would she have said yes? Its already clear that she likes Law. Besides, Why do I feel jealousy? Law is my best friend and the only one who stood up for me against Flash even when he did not know me. I should not be jealous of him.'
Peter forced a smile, trying to hide his disappointment as he moved towards the classroom.
However there was someone else who also saw and heard the exchange between Law and Gwen.
Mary Jane, however unlike Peter could not hide her emotions as she frowned, her jealousy evident.
'Why would Law ask Gwen out? Why does she always get the good stuff? I always thought that at least I have Harry who was probably the best boyfriend I could have asked for at that time. But he does not even love me. I doubt he even cares about my preferences. If it was not for him being rich, I would have already dumped him. Law is way more better than Harry except for being rich. But after getting a job at Facebook and with his grades, he would surely be earning a lot in the future.
If only I could find who is this spiderman guy who saved me from thugs last week. I wonder if he would be interested in me of whether he is already married.' Mary Jane was burning with jealousy.
Law who had his observation haki activated could sense the emotions of both Peter and MJ.
'Sorry Peter. Though you have not said anything about you having a crush on Gwen, I know you like her. I am truly sorry for not following the bro code. Well, to be fair if Gwen dated you, she would end up most likely dying. I am rooting for you and MJ though.' Law gave silent prayer and his sympathy to Peter.
'Well, Scratch that. MJ is a bitch and you deserve better. Maybe I should pair you up with Jessica? Or Cindy moon (Silk) or Felicia Hardy (Black Cat) if they exist on this Earth. Well, I would think about it later. Let me enjoy my first date ever in my two lives today.' Law thought
"Let's go Law. The class is about to start." Gwen said to which Law nodded with a smile.
