Capítulo 86: Chapter 85: Mystique and Law (1)
"These robots, why are they similar to the design of the sentinels I destroyed when I killed Trask? Did you happen to use his designs to make your own sentinels?" As Mystique said that, Law stiffened.
'Crap, I forgot about sentinels. I got the blueprint for them on a mission where I accompanied her to deal with Trask and to destroy everything about his research. She would not mind that I might have stolen some of his research, Would she? Well, trask researched it by experimenting on mutants, so there is a high chance that she would be mad about it. I don't want my newest employee to quit the job on the first day. I should act cool about it, let's see how she reacts.' Law decided his course of action
"Oh, I might have taken Trask's idea and implemented them myself. Of course, I did not kill or experiment on mutants to complete it. Well, I am a genius unlike Trask so there is that." Law said as he thought
'Should I tell that I might have taken some of her blood to make the sentinels stronger? Nah, leave it, why make things complicated unnecessarily?'
"I see," Mystique said after giving it a thought as an awkward silence followed.
'They seem different than Trask's design. I should give him the benefit of the doubt. I doubt the other mutants with him would be so happy if he experimented on mutants. Those two kids also seemed happy working and living with him.' Mystique thought about how the other mutants with Law were happy and it was unlikely that they would be happy if Law was experimenting on mutants.
Law tried to change the topic "Anyways, let me tell you what you would be doing. You would be perfect for missions that require espionage or gathering information with your abilities. But you are still too weak. You would easily get killed if you get discovered so we would have to train you."
"Train me?" Mystique asked confused
"Unarmed combat won't take you far. You just use your transformation ability to change into humans. A waste of such a marvelous power. We need to make you stronger." Law replied
'Stronger huh? That does not sound like a bad idea. If I had been stronger, I might have been able to save Erik and the others. I would not have to go and ask Charles for help.' Mystique thought
"So what do you think your power is?" Law asked confusing Mystique.
"I can cause myself to look and sound like an exact duplicate of any human being of either sex, wearing virtually any kind of clothing," Mystique replied
Law corrected her "Your ability is to molecularly shift the formation of your biological cells at will to change your appearance and thereby assume the form of other humans and animals. You can change into any living beings, well except microorganisms and plants."
"You can fly by becoming a bird. Swim by becoming a fish. Run fast by becoming a cheetah. Punch harder by becoming a gorilla. Somehow see in the dark by turning into a bat by using echolation. Poison someone by becoming a snake. You can become a dog and try to smell someone out."
"This is not all. You can adapt your body in order to camouflage according to your surroundings to hide yourself. Shift your organs into your lower extremities to avoid a lethal blow to your heart or lungs. Now do you see, the potential of your abilities?"
"I can't turn into an animal, do you think I have not tried becoming a bird and fly? It has always been my dream." Mystique rebutted his statements.
"Of course, you can't. Your body has a humanoid structure and can easily change to any human since it knows what being a human feels like. But animals don't have similar body structure. You would have to learn their body structure first before changing yourself into them. You know what this means?" Law asked excitedly
"What?" Mystique asked
"It means that you would be attending my biological classes. We would be cutting down animals and seeing how their innards look. It would be so much fun. Hehehe." Law's laughter and words creeped Mystique out.
'I never went to school. Would I be able to do it? I have to if I have to become stronger.' Mystique hardened her mind to start training.
"Uh, Would you be wearing your mask the entire time? You can trust me to not reveal your identity to anyone." Mystique asked weirded about by the fact that Law was still wearing his mask even when he was at home.
"Ah, I forgot about it." Law without thinking took out his mask and his gloves.
Mystique looked stupified at his young face
"You are younger than I expected. I thought you would be a little older seeing that you are so strong. Strength should have to come to you with age. But your age explains your lack of maturity. And what the hell are those tattoos? Did your parents never question you about having such a cringy tattoo that says 'death surgeon?"
"I would take that as a compliment. I just turned 18. You know what's great about being 18? I can finally legally... ignore all the advice from old people! Sorry, Mystique, you're officially ancient in my book."
