"Now that you've got the theory down..." Adam interjected, his voice trailing off, "...it's just a matter of practice. Try condensing your POD, keeping it stable, and then release it in controlled bursts."
Indeed, starting out, it is a simple matter. Now that she is just a beginner, Rias is in no need of advanced techniques or something similar. Even more so, in larger power levels, techniques don't matter as much
After all, what techniques can you use against Eldritch gods? Or even beings to that similar level? Sure, it is a bit overreaching to think about those beings, but it just goes to show that such things only matter at beings of lower power level
"Tch, you make it sound so easy"
Rias scoffed, rolling her eyes at him. She was not fully convinced of the simplicity of the training method.
"Just try it" He retorted unfazed, not trying to convince her "I will also be by your side, watching you and pointing out your mistakes"
She pursed her lips, resignation crossing her features "Fine...."

"Thaat's it...."
Adam's voice drew out slightly as he observed Rias.
The redhead's expression was one of intense focus, her eyes staring intensely at her hand. Her limb was exuding a dangerous reddish-black aura of destruction
Over her palm was a big ball of pure destruction, the shape of pure demonic power crackled with power, the air surrounding it being distorted by the power it was exuding
"Focus! Try to condense this ball further!"
The silver-haired boy urged, five-pointed star revolving around his iris as his emerald pupils were stuck to the ball of destruction
"....."
A strained expression appeared on Rias' face as she attempted to condense the ball. The shape of destruction that was over her palm flickered slightly, its shape seemingly destabilizing
BOOOOM
A faint booming sound echoed throughout the forest as the ball of destruction, which was shaking restlessly, exploded right in front of the red-haired girl's face
"Ouch!"
The busty devil exclaimed in pain, bringing a hand to her face. She massaged her face slightly, trying to ease the stinging pain an exploding ball of pure destruction brought upon her
"Haaah"
Adam sighed seeing this, his expression a bit conflicted. Magic was undoubtedly dangerous, a slight mistake could cost a normal person their life.
And although Rias has resistance to her own magic and power because of her race and her bloodline, it would still injure her slightly if it exploded right in front of her face
... Just because the silver-haired boy cheats in matters related to magic with [Alpha Stigma] and [Great Sage] doesn't mean everyone can do the same
"Give me your hand"
Adam stretched out his hand, reaching out to her and beckoning the redhead to do the same
Rias accepted and stretched out her hand with a bit of reluctance on her face... Whether that was from shame or exasperation was not clear
Holding the busty devil's hand, he noticed a red swelling on her otherwise white and soft skin.
It was a bruise- although a minor one, it would still take a longer time to heal due to the origin of the injury being demonic power.
Of course, the power of destruction has an even worse (or better) effect regarding this, so the time it would take to heal would be even longer

Rias winced, a cute pained sound escaping her mouth as her green-blue eyes looked at him with a confused light. In fact, her eyes were tearing up slightly, looking as though she was a small pet that was wronged

The devil princess hummed in comfort, her expression easing as the pain dulled and the 'wound' disappeared under his healing spell.
Her body relaxed, tension
seemingly leaving her with the soft light of his magic
"Rias"
Her greenish-blue eyes turned to him as he called out to her, her bruise already disappearing, leaving only soft skin behind.
"Yes....?"
Loosening his grasp of her palm and receding his hand, Adam looked at her with a serious expression
"Keep trying" He encouraged her, even though she probably didn't need it "In the beginning, it would be difficult to control your power. And I can't help much in this situation, so you have to use your own senses and instincts to get a better grasp of your magic and improve on your precision"
The silver-haired boy lectured her, even though what he just said was self-explanatory
"Okay"
She just nodded with an eager look in her eyes, she seemed to actually be looking forward to their training

Once again, the destruction-made shape exploded right in her face, causing another bruise
"Don't input so much power. Inject little magic power, and only inject more when your spell forms and stabilizes"
The blue-eyed boy imparted upon her the wisdom he obtained from analyzing her attempt with the Alpha Stigma as he approached her

Closing her eyes tightly, the wind produced by the explosion ruffled her red hair and caused a few bruises to appear on her skin

He sighed for the umpteenth time today, moving to heal the self-inflicted damage that she did to herself by making the same mistake as previously

"Start with a more difficult move. While forming and maintaining a needle-like shape with your POD will be a more difficult task, it will drastically improve your control over more simple shapes"
Adam lectured her once again, moving closer to her to heal her so they could proceed with another attempt

The familiar yet annoying sound of destruction crackling exploded in the surroundings

Rias exhaled a long breath, her expression tired, but her eyes were still firm. She didn't look discouraged, on the contrary, the mere fact that she held control for longer and this explosion was more powerful filled her with determination

The silver-haired boy looked at her with a thoughtful look in his eyes, his mind contemplating possible ways to improve her control over her power
Adam himself has the Alpha Stigma and [Great Sage], although he wouldn't call his control over his own power perfect, it was very close to it
Not to mention, he was always more sensitive to supernatural energies. This isn't something he gained, it was something internal- an innate talent of sorts.
It isn't because he is special, but the reason behind this phenomenon is the fact that in his previous life, there were no magical/ supernatural powers
Living his whole first life in a normal world... Safe to say, being in an environment with an extra energy that he isn't used to will make him more sensitive towards that unfamiliar energy or substance
….. Of course, it didn't particularly matter in the honkai universe. Just because he can sense honkai energy doesn't mean that he won't die if he comes in contact with it
But that is why, apart from his two cheating skills, Adam never had a problem with controlling his strength and power
"I see..."
The silver-haired boy exclaimed as he suddenly realized the reason behind the red-haired girl's lack of control of her power
"Haaah" He sighed, shaking his head in exasperation "The reason you can't control your magic power is because you mostly relied on magic circles to perform spells"
Magic circles aren't a rare concept. In the DxD world, they improve the spell damage, its precision, and they also lower the amount of energy needed to be consumed
If one doesn't use a magic circle, the consumption will be larger, and more energy will be wasted. That is also why almost everyone of the devil race uses magic circles- they are more convenient
"Is that so....?"
Rias muttered, almost to herself. Resignation flashed across her features, as if she had already guessed that this is why she couldn't form proper spells without a magic circle

Thoughtful, he put a hand under his chin. It wasn't like Devils can't use spells without magic circles, it is just that few people do so, causing them to rely on those contraptions more when using them in a fight

"Hmm....." Rias looked conflicted for a moment, before finally nodding "If this can make my training progress faster I wouldn't mind, I just don't want to have things handed to me"
"So you don't want to fully gain control of your energy instantly, but you wouldn't mind if I just helped you accelerate that process and make your own training results more effective?"
"Yes"
The redhead nodded instinctively, before finally processing his words
"Ah?" She looked at him, dumbfounded at how he voiced out her thoughts so accurately
In response to her surprised expression, he just smiled, opening his arms as if to say it was 'too easy' to see through her
Due to the knowledge of his previous life, Adam had a firm understanding of the character Rias Gremory... But that doesn't translate to reality
He realized that this understanding can only be used as a reference point. The Rias in front of him, despite showing signs of the Rias from the anime high school DxD, is still different in a way
She seems immature.... But she isn't stupid or naive, and she also seems to want to firmly escape the constraints of her family, and not rely on them.
Yet, the thing he noticed is that she... was easier to motivate than he previously thought
A grown-up and mature Rias wouldn't be so easy to change, in 'canon', it took going against her fiance and then also facing a ten-winged fallen angel- someone who was vastly stronger than her and could kill her in the split of a second
After facing all of that, only then did she start changing, but that was also quite a slow change.... But now, he only needed to use something like the Sword of destruction as a 'carrot' to bait her into fighting him with swordsmanship
And then, Adam also started insulting her, he expected her not to be phased by such insults- sure, he thought she would be mad, but the silver-haired boy never expected his words to pierce so deep into her heart that she instantly changed her mentality
And that was when he realized that the Rias in front of him isn't the Rias he was familiar with- they have similarities, but they are also different
... The Chat Room itself, and the knowledge that there exist multiple worlds- anime worlds included- might have also played a part in her change
He doesn't hate it, to be honest. He prefers the current version of Rias a lot more than the 'canon' one.
The way things seem to be, the current busty devil will have a stronger mentality, and she will also be far stronger in power than her 'canon' counterpart by the time she reaches that point

I have exams coming up
I still have over a week before it starts... But well, I can't say that I don't feel anxious
.... Perhaps it is because I have not studied at all?
