Capítulo 6: The Hand Appears Part Three
" Mom, you said I would be hanging out with dad for the summer. " Said a young boy who looked around 10 or 12 years old.
" Josh, I already told you something came up so he can't take you on summer vacation. " Said Angela as she looked down at her sons sad expression. His head lowered as he held onto a Iron man figurine.
" You're just saying that to try and make me feel better. Dad went on the trip with Rebecca didn't he. "
" Where did...
" I heard you yelling at him over the phone last night. " Said Josh lifting up his head to look out the car window with a gloomy expression.
Angela could only glance at her son's sad expression and lament about the their current situation as she continued driving her car to work. A few minutes later Angela parked her car finding Ben's BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle already parked outside.
" Come on let's go inside. " Said Angela with a smile as she raffled her son's hair. As they detached their seat blets and got out of the car.
" So is this where you work now? " Asked Josh as the two walked through the lobby of the building.
" What do you think?" Asked Angela as she wanted to take her sons mind off what had happened with her sons father and her ex fiance.
Josh looked around for a moment scrutinely. " It's a lot smaller than where you previously worked at. " Replied Josh finally as the two entered the elevator.
" Well, it might be small now but, you never know what might happen in the future. And besides since it a small business right now it gives me more free time on my hands, to spend time with my little baby boy. " Explained Angela with a smile as she looked at her son lovingly as she raffled his hair again.
"..."
" Whatever, and I'm not a baby anymore jeezs mom." Said Josh turning to the look the other way his cheeks turning a little red in embarrassment.
Ding sounded as the elevators door opened immediately Angela found most of the new members of their company were working diligently.
Some on their computer, others with various spare parts of current smartphones in the market. " Uhmm, what's with all the spare laying around the table. " Asked Josh as he looked around.
" Well, this is a tech company after all." Answered Angela as the two walked towards her office greeting everyone along the way. Opening the door Angela found her boss laying down on a sofa that hadn't been there yesterday his face slightly covered by his right arm.
" Uhmm mom whose he?" Asked Josh in a whispers worried someone had sneak in when no one had been looking.
" Well that my..Uhmm..his." Angela struggled to find the words to say that he was her new boss. Who still dressed casually to work which wasn't a huge issue but, she would have preferred it. If he dressed a little more formal when coming to work.
" I can still hear the two of you, you know. " Said Ben in a tired voice. Josh and Angela looked at one another briefly.
Ben took a side long glance at his right hand woman, who seemed to want to deny she worked for him. Before turning to look at the young boy staring at him. Josh Green 12 years old blonde hair, blue eyes with a small birth mark on his lower right chin like himself.
Lifting himself off the sofa groaning as he did so. " Wow, what happened to your face. " Exclaimed Josh in surprise, hearing her sons shout. Angela who had just been about to take her seat turned to look back. Only to find Ben's right eye bruised with a cut along his upper.
" What in the world have you've been up to last night. " Asked Angela in an upset tone worrying what kind of trouble her boss got himself into.
" Well, Iets just say I met an inhuman person at the dojo and leave it at that. " Said Ben in a frustrated tone. Frowning in displeasure as he recalled last night events.
12 hours earlier Ben scouted the premises from the edge of the rooftop he was on. Ben now knowing that a group of hired guns along with other crime syndicate gang members. Were about to lead an attack on The Hands secret hideout, which was likely going to fail miserably.
His own location on the rooftop was likely already known by The Hands members too. This were real life ninjas he was dealing with if it was a frontal attack one on one he could likely take on one of them down even in his human form. His fourth degree black blet in Karate after all that had to count for something even in this universe.
Anyway that didn't mean he needed to fight in his human form anyway. Even with the large number of people sent by the crimes syndicates which exceed a hundred armed forces. He could every easily take most of them down in under ten minutes, it also seemed from his investigation that these crime family were unaware of The Hands true capabilities.
Looking around the premises from the rooftop more and more vehicles came to stop at normal looking dojo. Ben than looked around the rooftop to see if he could find any hidden figures around him or on other rooftops.
And not to his surprise there were now currently three figures hidden in the shadows looking in his direction. Using his detective mode feature built into his helmet that helped him see through walls and different objects.
Which made the world appear in three distinct colors mostly grey, blue and red. Red representing body heat signature generated by humans, blue representing any metallic material, everything else appeared grey.
It had taken him three weeks to get the right parts and put this all together. Brainstorm created the blue print while he put all of this together in his human form. He had the desire to expand his own knowledge base on mechanics and programming.
Ben after spotting the three didn't try to hide the fact that he hadn't spotted the individuals hiding around him. Not hesitating for a moment he threw out a few smoke pellets while jumping off the edge off the rooftop.
The entire action from taking out the smoke pellets to throwing them out, before lapping off the rooftop was completed in less than three seconds.
As Ben lapped off the rooftops still facing the direction of where he spotted the ninjas. As he fell toward the ground Ben could swear he heard projectiles flying over his head. Most likely throwing stars or shurikens as he had learned they were called.
As he fell pass the first apartment story building grabbing onto his right wrist. A small compartment opened on top his wrist guard, of his dark grey gauntlet. Firing a silent line that latched onto the side of the building he had just lapped off. The sticky line had been made using Goops chemical adhesive.
As the line stack onto the wall, Ben swang closer towards the wall his feet making connect with the wall. Right above him was a was an Air conditioning unit that struck out the building and was just wide enough to cover him.
Ben quickly turned his attention back up allowing the line to hold his weight as he hang. He rested his right knee on the side of the wall in a kneeling position, while his left leg hung straight.
Grabbing three pairs of tranquilizer dots from the third left pouch on his dark brown utility blet. Looking back up his helmet still in detective mode, waiting while holding three traque dots in his left hand only a few seconds passed. Ben's heart beating rapidly as he took deep steady breaths, before two figures finally appeared in his detective mode vision.
Without any hesitation both figures lapped off the rooftop just like he had in two direction. One down toward the ground wanting to use the air conditioning units as stepping stoops. While the second lapped across towards the opposite building rooftop Ben made his move exactly as the two were in mide air.
Using his right leg to swing himself off the side of the wall he threw all three tranquilizer dart towards the red clad ninja. Who at the moment was about to land on top of the air conditioning unit. Which Ben used as cover, all three darts headed striaght towards different parts on the ninjas body.
Ben on the other hand turned his body mid-air detaching the elastic line that held him onto the side of the wall. Meanwhile, the ninja who was about to land on the air conditioning unit reacted insistently to the surprise attack.
Drawing out a long Katana Blade from his side, using the flat side of the blade blocking two out of three darts thrown out. Drawing an long ark in the air Ben who had already turned his body around wasn't able to see this amazing fit of speed and precision.
However, Ben could clearly hear the sound of metal clanking but, due too how close the attack was thrown out by Ben, using the tranquilizer dart towards the red clad ninja.
The third dart was able to hit the men's right thigh. At the same time after detaching his elastic line from the side of the wall he had been hanging on to. Ben shot out another line from his gauntlet again this time towards the other figures who was about to land on to the other rooftop.
The line was able to attach on to the back of the second ninjas who at this point heard the same metal clanking sounds. Even before his feet touched the ground he flet something attaching to their back.
Reacting quickly reaching for his blade as land onto the rooftop. A strong force pulled him back causing him to hit the ground heavily on his back.
After which he began to slide back rapid at this point Ben on the opposite end of the line nearly, smashed into the side of the opposite building wall. At this point Ben wasn't fast enough to react to turned his body so he smashed into the side of the wall. While all this was happening the first ninja who had been attacked and gotten hit by the tranquilizer dart.
Threw out a bunch of shurikens towards Ben who had just smashed into the opposite building. The moment he threw out the shurikens their right leg which had just been hit by one of the darts. Suddenly went completely numb causing him to lose his balance.
As the shurikens were about to reach him, Ben began to slide down towards the ground causing the shurikens to miss there target. And hit into the wall instead, Ben on the other hand only went down a few meters towards the ground before stopping.
After which Ben used his right thumb to hit a button which sent out a huge current of electricity on the line.
Meanwhile, the ninja who had stopped sliding back, stopped by the parapet around the building rooftop. As soon as he slammed into the parapet going to grab his shot blade suddenly his entire body stopped moving.
A huge electric current ran through his whole body causing him to spasm violently which went on for a couple of seconds. In the meantime back up with the red clad ninja who had been hit with the tranquilizer dart, began to fall down towards the ground.
The numbing poison had already caused both of his legs, and left side of his body to go complete numb. He fall to the ground with a loud bangs, slamming into a few of the air conditioning unit on the way down.
Thankfully he didn't land on his head otherwise, Ben would have committed his first murder in this world. After Ben watched the first person he attacked fall to the ground from the three story building he had just been on.
He finally stopped pressing the button that sent an electric current through his line, detaching and landing onto the ground. Looking back up he found that he guy or girl he had electrocuted was motion less. The voltage wasn't enough to kill a man well unless the person had underlining heart issues.
Staying vigilant Ben continued to use his detective mode vision. To try to find the third figure which he found was still on the rooftop in the same hiding place. It seemed only two of them were sent to attack while the third stayed behind to keep scouting.
Which was reasonable as all members of the Hand were all highly trained. And could likely take on multiple groups of people by themselves two were more than enough to take down one person. They were all trained killers from a young age, Ben decided to leave quickly before the third person came to check things out.
There was already some noise caused by there their little scuffle. Ben isn't sure if this is a common thing by their standards or not but, he still couldn't take the risk. He had no idea how a head to head fight would go with one of them. He servile over estimated his own combat skills.
He wasn't that big of a nerd about, Marvel to have read all their comic books. About the Hand which he only knew were a organized group of ninjas with highly skilled members.
Ben began to quickly rush off towards the dojo using his detective mode vision to scout out the area. For potential hidden figures as he ran towards the location, Ben dodged to the side instinctively.
As a bunch of shurikens were thrown towards himself from another direction. As he did he suddenly began to hear gun shots in the direction he had been running to.
" Looks like the battle has begun. " Thought Ben to himself as he turned to the Omnitrix as he hid beside a dumpster.
He had already seen were the figure who threw throwing stars was lurking at and since the battle had now began. It was time as a person once said it's hero time.
" You're sure you got that bruise on your face fighting in a dojo. Cause it looks like you were in a street fight. " Said Angela accusingly as she glared at her boss. Wonder if he was lying to her as she across her arms together.
" Yeah, what you think that you won't get hurt in a spare? " Asked Ben with a surge of his shoulders. Angela thought about and shook her head before asking another question.
" So what I'm I supposed to tell the new employees out there? " Asked Angela as she pointed out side, Josh on the other hand just looked between the two of them.
" Don't worry about I already explained everything to everyone I even showed some of my old fight footage. " Replied Ben waving his hand at her while taking out his smartphone. Which was made by this world version Apple called Dell Tech.
He had found that many of the famous people in his original world didn't exist here like they did back in his old world. Like the Daily Bugle News Papers was still own by J Jonna Jameson however, he appreance resembles that of JK Simon's in his old world.
He wasn't sure but it seems that important people here resembles many famous people like Tony Stark resembling Robert Downey Jr. Steve Roger resembling Chris Evans and Bruce Banner the Hulk resembles Eric Bana from Deliver as from Evil.
Angela grabbed her boss smartphone angrily before looking at the footage. " Hey mom can I see too." Asked Josh wanting to watch the videos too.
Ben had been sent here with most of the things he had, on his person which included his phone which was an iPhone 13 which he couldn't use in public.
He knew that question would likely be asked of him if he ever gets injured at work. This was his solution to that question if he was ever asked hopefully he was never asked about the people in the footage.
" Alright, than seems like you're telling the truth for now. " Spoke Angela before handing the phone over to her son who seemed eager to watch.
" Good, I thought I already told you that I did martial arts. " Said Ben nodding his head as he got off the sofa. Heading to leave the office. " Where are going now? " Asked Angela as she saw Ben leaving the office.
" Work, I mean I do have to supervised the new employees on their projects. " Replied Ben as he left the room leaving Angela and her son in the room. Meanwhile Josh was still watching on Ben smartphone going to set down on the sofa Ben had been lying on.
Angela seeing Josh's mind was now occupied with something besides her ex fiancé. She took her seat began working on some documents, she really needed to hire an assistant to handle the tedious work. That she now needed to organize and process than sent off.
Ben who left the office leaving his hardworking employee to handle all the boring paperwork by herself. Went off to help work on and supervise their first project.
The Promax one a smartphone that would leave all their contemporaries in the dust for the foreseeable future. Pushing the current standards of the smartphone five-years in the future.
Ben and his first batch of employees spent the next three hours tirelessly working on the programming and reconfiguring parts from current smartphone. Ben main focus was on teaching his employees and a team that would be become the backbone of the company.
And with how things went down last night he realized that he had heavily over estimated his own ability. He had the most powerful tool in the whole universe on his wrist but, when it went into recharge mode. While he was in the middle of a fight he became helpless.
Being played around by his opponent if his opponent had been serious about killing him. The Omnitrix fail safe would have kicked in however, that still showed that he's glaring weakness. He flet as if his eight years of Karate practice had been a joke. He never wanted to be place in that position ever again.
" Uhmm.. Sir are you ok? " Asked Chris the lead programmer. Ben had chosen after watching him work.
" Yeah, don't worry about it I'm well aware of what you've been doing and there's only few areas, you made mistakes on." Ben than began to point out Chris mistakes in the software operating systems. They were designing for their first line of ProMax smartphones.
