I glanced around.

The place was stocked with fine wine, drinks, and desserts.

Clearly, a lot of thought had gone into this.

Since they all wanted me to come, and since I was already here, I wasn't about to just stand around.

I found a seat, picked up a piece of cake, and began to eat.

While eating, I glanced around.

Nolan Harrington was away on a business trip and hadn't come today.

Zara Lockhart, however, stomped over, glaring and scolding me:

"Lucille Sinclair! How can you talk like that? You're just being bitter because you can't have the grapes, so you call them sour! My cousin and brother-in-law love each other. You're just jealous, that's why you're slandering him!"

I sneered, just about to respond, when a trembling female voice cut in.

The engagement ceremony had ended, and at some point, Sylvie Lockhart had walked over.

The moment our eyes met, she rushed toward me, grabbing my hands:
