In the beginning and middle the woman play a role sometimes but not much. Later they become a more integral part to the MC. When it comes to Harem Protagonist he’s near the bottom in my opinion. If the MC read this comment he would agree as well which leaves me mixed feelings lol. So read it for the cultivation, world building, etc not so much the romance.

The total number escapes me at the moment but throughout the author has done a good job showing how they connected with the MC and why they spectated for a time. If your turned off by the bigger number that is.
I didn’t finish his first novel despite reading a good chunk so I’m likely to have missed some connections but I did notice one that’s stands out with the MCs later technique name being similar to another person’s technique. Hinting to his other novel. There’s probably more but that’s one.
Well this MC is similar to older eastern fantasy novels where he meets a new woman in different places HOWEVER each woman is different enough both in personality and background to keep the relationships interesting. Also the MC in the latest chapters has a big shift in his approach towards his woman for the better. Piece of unsolicited advice: I found myself both loving and hating this MC at times so I’d recommend you read other novels at the same time. This helps divide my emotions so I’m not too consumed by this one novel.
I don’t disagree about the MC loving his women unequally. I’m pretty sure most MCs would agree if you talked with them one on one. My point is the ideal reminds the MC of his insufficiency’s which spurs action towards shoring up his harem. Delusion could happen to some but in there hearts of heart even they know the truth about who they love more or less. Older eastern novels had great world building, character development, plots, etc but sadly the harem aspect fell short more often then not sadly. Hopefully newer authors can make better harem protagonist.

Many of us like the idealist harem protagonist because he knows how hard it is or maybe how unlikely it is to love everyone equally but he does his best anyways. Maybe he never achieves it in reality but having that aim makes it stay in the front of his mind which I appreciate.

Agreed. Whether he wants to help or not his enemies or just interested parties will consider using the alliance in order to squeeze benefits out of the MC because of his connections to them. So it’s in his interest to help the alliance by going all out. I’d recommend reading “Star Odyssey” on Wuxiaworld. Better MC character development.
Michael recalled Lincoln destroying so many lives with the power he had given his friend and shuddered. Even if Lincoln wasn't his enemy, the Blood Incursion transformed him into a ruthless murderer. Lincoln still used his power to cause harm and end innocent lives. Too many to count.
