At the center of big cities there would be rulers that you could copy unified measurements on so you could bring them home and everyone would use the same system. If you disagreed on how much grain or flower you were sold, you could take it to containers in the center of the city and have it measured. If you felt cheated on currency weight there were weights guaranteed to be right you could use. Dude, just look up why bullets spin. It's purely to increase accuracy over distance. For the love of god, do yourself a favor and google it. Modern tanks using the same amount of gunpowder penetrate countless times deeper with projectiles that don't spin. Fin stabalized sabot can penetrate through the most heavily armored tanks in the world completely, using the same amount of explosives as normal tank shells. They have 0 spin. They don't use extreme amounts of propellant. They aren't missiles, yet they're countless times more accurate than traditional bullets. I've said nothing about missiles, and only brought up railguns to show you that projectiles get nowhere near hot enough to melt mid air. The reasons traditional bullets don't spin more is because it makes them tip upwards and tumble, therefore it makes them less accurate. Spinning adds nothing to penetration power or speed, otherwise the fasted and deepest penetrating weapons in the world would use spinning ammo instead of fin stabalized ammo. The spinning has nothing to do with air resistance. It's the gyroscope effect, where a rapidly spinning object keeps it's orientation, whether on earth or in the vacuum of space. Spin a gyroscope really fast and push or pull it, it won't turn, though it can be pushed back and forth. It just keeps the bullet from tipping over because bullets aren't very aerodynamic. That's why modern long range projectiles have fins on them

Completely wrong. If spinning increased piercing damage then armor piercing bullets would spin faster. They don't, they're instead made of a harder material. Spinning doesn't reduce air resistance, it stabalizes the bullet and prevents it from tumbling, which prevents the bullet from veering off course. A MUCH better way to stabalize bullets is with fins, like the feathers of an arrow. That's why modern long range weapons don't use spinning bullets, but fin stabalized ammo
