Kabanata 8: Chapter 8

On the day Lorne went abroad, he sent me a message that I still remember.

"Elowen, people don't always make the right choices. Marriage isn't that simple. Whenever you look back, I'll definitely be there."

Looking back now, I distanced myself from Lorne for Alec's sake.

What an absolute idiot I was.

"What kind of relationship do Lorne and I have? It's none of your business."

"So what if he likes me?"

"I tell you one more time, we're already divorced!"

Hearing these words, Alec grabbed my hand like a madman and ran out of the venue.

Lorne didn't even have time to react.

I had already vanished from the hall.

"Lorne!"

In the crowd, I saw Lorne's anxious face.

Due to nervousness, my stomach started to cramp up again.

But Alec paid no attention, slamming on the gas pedal.

"Alec, my stomach hurts!"

"Slow down!"

"Where on earth are you taking me?"

I held my stomach with one hand and grabbed the handle with the other, beads of sweat forming on my forehead.
