"Why, Adelle. Why can't you let go of him?"
A newspaper was crumpled tightly by the man in the golden mask, sitting at the party table with his alcoholic drink. He always attended these routine masquerade parties to gather various information, including information about the woman named Adelle.
The man took another gulp of his drink, a burning sensation immediately spreading through his throat. His red eyes glowed, reflecting wild desire and strong ambition as he gazed at the portrait of his beloved.
"You are too precious to be his, Adelle. Come back to my embrace," he mumbled again before finally collapsing unconscious due to the high alcohol content.
The aide beside him had already expected his master to faint, as this was not the first time he had accompanied his master in a drunken state.
He then told the guards to carry his master and escort him into the horse-drawn carriage that carried them. For whatever purpose, his aide never knew why his master was so insistent on knowing information about Duchess Eddenberg.
Because from his eyes, there was never a trace of sincere and calm love. All that existed was revenge and anger, hatred and a desire to immediately bind the wife of Duke Eddenberg.
The aide shook his head, at the fate of his master who instead desired another man's wife.
