Hello. Now that the novel has passed the 100-chapter mark, let me answer the most asked question: "Is this a harem?" Yes and no. First of all, you need to understand one thing: the MC is a serial killer. He operates purely on a wild beast’s instinct. He’s an eldritch horror in human skin (this is not a spoiler). The novel is not built around romance. You might ask, “Then why did you add the romance tag?” Yes, I did... because there will be love interests, multiple of them. But as I said, the MC is detached from such emotions. He may be with them, even sleep with them (yes, segs), but only to gain something. He keeps people close as long as they provide value. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about them. He’s obsessive about those he lets near. Their enemies become his enemies. And being his enemy? Oh boy. He’s not just a villain for the sake of having a tag. If he truly sees someone as an enemy, killing them isn't even the goal. He’s the type to make them (and their entire bloodline) regret ever being born. That’s where the dark fantasy part of this story comes in. Consider this a warning: the MC is a villain. Expect gore. I don’t write reviews very often, mostly because I’m very picky with the novels I read, and because I don’t often feel like many novels really deserve a review. This one though, is one of the few novels that does this genre and these tropes very well on top of being very fleshed out and well written, so I felt I had to give a review for the author. The worldbuilding is done very well, where it’s not rushed or just a dump of info on you, and it’s more like you’re figuring out everything along side Adyr. This is done excellently as well, considering I barely even notice that the world building is being done, and yet I have such a clear image of the world so far on both sides. On top of this, the characters feel pretty well fleshed out and are intriguing enough to make you want to know a bit more about them without being overwhelming in the story. Especially Adyr, the MC, his personality is one of the few where I’ve seen the dark, edgy and mysterious trope done extremely well. It doesn’t feel forced or overdone at all and I consider that to be very impressive, considering I’ve seen it done wrong so many times before. The action and imagery are also very well thought out, and you can quite vividly imagine them while you’re reading it. Usually that can’t be done well without ruining the immersion, but author does an amazing job of keeping it short enough to not ruin immersion, yet long enough to really let you imagine the entire scene pretty much perfectly. Lastly, there have been very few mistakes that I’ve seen throughout the 200 chapters I’ve seen so far, and wherever there have been any it has either been acknowledged by author in the comments or edited later on. So props to author for doing such an awesome job keeping things in line and well organized. Overall this is by far one of the best novels I have read on the site, it has its own twists on common tropes and feels very unique in how it uses them as well. On top of this being right up my alley in terms of the type of novel I like to read, it’s one of the very few novels I’d give an honest 4.9/5. Thanks for the great work author! :)
Only 18 chapters out yet but I can say it's just my new favorite novel. It reminds me of Reverend Insanity so much. Main character looks as ruthless as Fang Yuan and manipulative. The power system looks unique for now. Not enough information at the moment but what i read so far shows this. Okay enough of this I will make a detailed review after more chapters are released. The real intention I'm here is to ask a question. Author MC's name, Adyr is from Lords of the fallen game? If yes i will like the novel more because its one of my favorite souls game
Read till CH 112 and the story is ok but still better than a lot of trash on this site. First of all, this should not be advertised as a villain Mc. I haven't seen him kill 1 guy in 100 ch both in and out of virtual reality. He always helps people and save the kingdom from threats, he hasn't done anything truly villainous nor has he done even anything remotely moraly Grey. You say he is calculative but everything he does saves the innocent and kind and anything he is antagonistic against is either a monster or someone moraly corrupt. At this point he is just a hero with extra steps. If he was half as cold and calculated as he claimed to be then he would have farmed the the sparks ability to create endless energy at the expense of the people, but his interests always seem to be connected to the wellbeing of others, allowing him to be heroic while also claiming to be evil to get the villainous tag. At this point just admit that he cares about other people instead of disguising it as self interest. As for the next thing, the plot is cliche, I can usually tell what's going to happen with the first few paragraphs in a sequence of events. Cliche plots are not always bad as even if you know something is going to happen it can still affect you. A cliché is a cliche for a reason, and if skillfully written, it still makes for a good story; but the Clichés in here are shallow and lacking in depth, stuff like face slapping and saving the kingdom from village to village then to the stage 4 spark monster destroying the kingdom, and he has no real reason to do any of this other than some crystals and that the country a convenient place to go offline. And as for the third thing: the world building. It easily carries this webnovel, I can tell that the author put real effort into the power system and the world. It's honestly the best part about the Novel other than the update stability. I do have one last gripe about this tho but it has less to do with the world building and more to do with the writing; in the latter chapters I read, the Mc is rich in crystals he completely ignores his stats in favor of taming more sparks despite each stat having a profound effect on his strength, he could have + 90 free stats for 90 crystals but instead spends hundreds on abilities that don't affect his strength as much a base increase of like 3× the power. I understand you don't want the Mc to grow too strong too quickly, but having it there and not using it is worse than not having the option at all. Well anyways I didn't think this would be so long but here I am, and hope you found what you're looking for in this review.
I read this novel and instantly knew it was going to be a hit so I decided to be among the first few that gave it a review. But just saying it will be a hit wont be enough so i have to give the reasons why. First i have to give the author high praise for the structured power system this is the first time i have seen an author using something commonly used by others but adding his own unique take on it to the point it becomes orginal we haven't seen much yet but i am sure the author will "Spark" your intrest with with this one(sorry for the bad joke) Secondly the Mc is just so amazing the author really wanted to show why he put the genius tag in the novel because the way the mc analyzes a situation is just so peak for me. it just showed how much the author put into his research before writing this novel. And a quick warning most readers would expect the mc to be heartless, psychopathic, and any other vile word out their because of the villain tag but no Mc is not that but that doesnt mean he is a hero either trust me from all the actions the mc has done it just shows how the mc tries to earn benefits for himself in the long run so he is no hero just a man that helps those he will benefit from in the future also from the synopsis I think the author plans for the mc to revert to his past life tendencies as he advances in his 'Evolutionary step' but I am not so sure since I haven't gone that far yet. Thirdly the world building I really like how the world is developing so far at the point I am at we only know there are 12 cities left in the world after a world war. A war that was caused by the world resetting itself due to a mad scientist trying to escape the "Prison" and move to another world and after the war humans are forced to evolve. With those who are Naturally mutated and live outside the cities due to their unpredictable nature and transformation tagged as first generation, those genetically modified due to their wealth or military status called the second generation and finally those that get their powers from the game called the third generation so yeah the world is really fleshed out in the first 40 chapters but it will still make you curious for more. Now the side characters the author really made sure to flesh each of their personalities out and I love the fact that the Mc is friends with rich and powerful people since he has helped them in one way or the other due to his past life experiences and my favorite will definitely be Victor his personality is just so easy going although his obliviousness to Adyr's financial status can sometiimes be annoying but in a good way TLDR: So what I am trying to get across is that this novel is peak and you will not be wasting your money reading it. And no I am not the authors alt account I am not that good unfortunately. Also to the author because of your novel I will top up my account again but will pay for the privilege next month since this month is almost over and although I might not end up being among your top 100 fans in the future because I am sure bigger readers will pick up the book when it has more chapters and becomes more popular I will try to support in the best way I can with power stones and chapter unlocks Also thank you for the awesome novel
Noooo I caught up to the privilege chapters, and I’m too poor to afford it, but that aside I made a review on this novel after reaching 100 chapters a few days ago and after reading almost 350 chapters I can say it’s still just as peak if not even better than when I made the first review, you’re missing out if you don’t read this novel and no I’m not a AI, good job again author please don’t stop writing.
I read 50 chapters. There’s too much cringe and the Mc is extremely edgy. Everything feels surface level with nothing being fleshed out properly. There’s also clear signs of AI used for generating text throughout, making me think it was also used for other parts of planning the novel which would explain the shallowness. Definitely below average. I guess it’s possible it gets better afterwards but I doubt it.
I really enjoyed the part of the novel i read and would rate the writing very high level, consistent. Story is well fleshes out and intereting. Would definitely reccomend to other who enjoy evil guy playing the good guy, thou keep in mind he isnt acting evil, his character is and he doesnt go on random evil assignments. Also love that the MC is actuallt smart, calm and collected.
One of the best reads so far, my new fave after, lotm, the mech touch, reverane insanity and lohp. The world is building nice, i wish the scope expands to the universe just not the current world. I like MC more and more, he is like joker and batman mixed together. Please stay clear from harem or similar trope as MC is too good to waste him like that.
what you're writing is something I can deem that is truly special, I can't wait to read till the conclusion. this is one of the best novels and most unique novels I've ever read. and my god the mc is the best, especially the unique power system and world building. truly one of a kind, I hope you continue writing!! highly recommend
I like the story your aiming for despite the fact I hate Video games Type of novels but this just might change my outlook on them, mc is literally a physco when he wants to be and I hope it carries into his behaviour with his women and them also physco over him. I hope there’s a lot of r-18 and the girls will actually have a rivalry over him and don’t make it a baseless harem where they all magically get along all the time witch is very unrealistic, I think they should compete for MCs 1st child as a background activity when mc settles down he can have a child early in the story and also continue getting stronger as the main part of the story, I haven’t read much but it’s looking really promising
This is genuinely one of the best novels i’ve ever read on here. Most stories on this site are shitty translations, copy and pasted premises and worlds, or just have plain bad writing. But I feel like this novel does something unique. The world building is fantastic and makes me excitied to learn more. The power system is very engaging and makes me interested in learning more about it. The characters aside from the MC could use more work, but considering how this story mainly focuses on him I can let it slide. Everything about this novel is great, and it’s a shame that this novel isn’t up there with the greats like Infinite Mana in the Apocalypse or Shadow Slave. Instead, these shitty smut novels or poorly written pieces of trash are on that leaderboard. I would’ve never known about this novel had it not been for the free chapter thing webnovel does and it’s been a great ride so far, and i’m excitied to see what’s next.

At ch-423, from the outside it could look like the mc is already OP and is not far from overtaking the strongest characters that have been introduced so far... But, then you realise he hasn't even gone past the outer region of this world (A.K.A the weakest region). Makes me think about how even though this novel is already at a very high level of quality, world building, plot... it's potential is still much higher and continuosly growing.
