Chapitre 1: Chapter 1: The Rebirth

Sam Blackwell was an avid gamer, known for his strategic brilliance in Age of Empires. Little did he know, his skills in this game would one day become his most valuable asset in a world far from his own.

The last thing Sam remembered was his car skidding off the icy road. The next, he was waking up to the cold, hard ground beneath him, the chill biting through his thin clothing. As he sat up, disoriented, he took in the sprawling, rugged landscape around him—this was not the world he knew.

"Where the hell am I?" Sam muttered, his breath visible in the cold air.

Before he could gather his thoughts, a series of notifications appeared before his eyes, like holograms:

Welcome to Westeros. You have been granted the Age of Empires System.

Sam blinked, thinking he might still be in some sort of dream. But the messages continued:

Name: Samwell Title: Lord Starting Location: The North

He rubbed his eyes, but the notifications remained. Slowly, the reality of his situation began to sink in. The ground was hard and unforgiving, covered in a thin layer of frost. The air was cold enough to sting his lungs. Samwell, as he was now called, pulled himself to his feet and took a deep breath, trying to make sense of his surroundings.

Around him, the landscape was harsh and untamed. Dense forests bordered the small clearing where he stood, and the distant peaks of mountains loomed against a gray sky. The land felt ancient and alive, far removed from the modern world he knew. The realization hit him with a mixture of awe and terror—he was no longer on Earth.

A second notification appeared, offering more details about his current state:

Mission: Establish Your Base Objective: Build a Lumber Camp and a House Reward: 100 Wood, 50 Food

"Alright," he muttered. "Let's see if this really works."

Samwell took stock of his surroundings, spotting a small group of people huddled together nearby. They looked at him with a mixture of fear and hope. Realizing they must be his starting villagers, he approached them.

"Everyone, gather around!" he called out, trying to sound authoritative despite his own uncertainty.

The villagers obeyed, moving with a resigned efficiency that hinted at a life accustomed to hardship. Samwell instructed them to begin gathering wood from the nearby forest, using simple tools that appeared as if by magic in their hands. To his amazement, they moved with a purpose and coordination that was almost supernatural.

As they worked, Samwell began to explore his newfound abilities. His vision shifted, showing him a bird's-eye view of the area, much like in the game he loved. He could select villagers, issue commands, and even speed up their efforts. The system felt intuitive, a natural extension of his strategic mind.

The lumber camp went up quickly, its wooden structure sturdy and functional. With the camp completed, Samwell received a warm sensation and a notification confirming the resources had been added to his inventory. Encouraged by this success, he directed the villagers to construct a house, expanding his population limit.

As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the land, Samwell surveyed his small but growing settlement. The villagers moved about with a renewed sense of purpose, their faith in their new lord evident in their actions. Samwell felt a sense of accomplishment, tempered by the knowledge that this was only the beginning.

The night brought with it a deep, biting cold, but also a sense of quiet determination. Samwell knew he had been given a second chance, a unique opportunity to shape this new world. He didn't know why or how he had been brought to Westeros, but he was determined to make the most of it.

As he lay in his simple quarters, listening to the sounds of the night, Samwell's mind raced with plans and strategies. He knew the challenges ahead would be formidable, but with his Age of Empires system, he believed he had a fighting chance. The North was a harsh and unforgiving land, but it was also a land of opportunity—a place where he could build something truly remarkable.

With that thought, he drifted into a restless sleep, dreaming of castles and armies, of alliances and battles. The game had changed, but the rules remained the same. And in this new game of thrones, Samwell intended to emerge victorious.
