Chapitre 31: Starting the fignt
"The road sure is very uneven for the bandits to travel across it." said Anna as they yet again passed over a bump.
"...Yeah" said Sekke as he looked forward to look for the bumps.
Secre who was sleeping inside the pocket woke up because of the disturbance and peeked out of the pocket.
"Oh, Secre you woke up, huh?" said Sekke as he felt some movements in his shirt.
Secre looked at Sekke who was riding the bike and the hands wrapped around his chest.
'...Is he with someone?' thought Secre as she jumped out of the pocket and saw the kids in the side cart who were looking at her with curiosity.
She looked at the kids for a while before she hopped onto Sekke's shoulder and saw the expressionless Anna who was clinging to Sekke's back.
She then looked down towards the huge mounds pressing against Sekke's back and turned her head towards Sekke and noticed a small smile on his face.
Feeling slightly upset at him Secre prepared herself to peck his head.
"Secre if you are thinking about pecking, do that later, I am not driving alone this time you know? They might be injured if I lost control." said Sekke as he felt Secre's intent to peck him. This was the instinct that he developed by living with her for so long.
Secre stopped herself as she heard what Sekke said and thought, '...he is right.' and then jumped down on the bike and took her spot.
"What is that anti bird?" asked Anna since she noticed that Secre responded to what Sekke asked of her.
"She is my familiar, her name's Secre. She is very smart and takes care of me too." said Sekke as he glanced at Secre who was sitting in front of him.
Secre turned her head to look at Sekke and raised her wing in response to what Sekke said.
"Big brother, we are getting close." said the boy hearing which Sekke stopped the bike and said, "We will be going on foot from here on."
Anna and the children got off the bike after which Sekke deactivated his magic.
"Secre, go ahead and check out for the enemies, we will be hiding here." said Sekke.
Secre nodded and flew away to check whether the locstion was fine or not.
"Anna take off your squad robe, it is standing out here in the forest." said Sekke.
Anna did as Sekke asked him to as he led the kids and the girl towards the bush to hide.
"Alright, listen here, you kids will have to be near us all the time, since there is no way of sending you back right now, Don't worry I am super strong, so I promise you two that you will not be harmed." said Sekke as he patted the kids' heads.
The kids nodded in response though they were still quite scared of the idea of going near the bandits.
Sekke nodded and then looked at Anna and asked, "How strong is your magic Anna, and what type and range you are comfortable to fight against?"
"I cannot explain how strong my magic is since I don't know about the bandits' strength. About range and type, except for close combat opponents, I will be able to fight at any position." said Anna.
"Alright. You will be be the rear guard, I will be in the front, make sure to not include me in your attacks." said Sekke.
Anna nodded and then both of them waited for Secre to return.
After a while Sekke saw Secre coming back and just kept hiding. Being an anti bird Secre was very conscious box mana and could easily tell where Sekke was and headed towards the bushes.
Once she got in Sekke asked what all she could answer in the gestures and said, "Well they are indeed here, but there are too many of them, you will be fine right?"
Anna who heard Sekke question nodded her head seeing which Sells nodded and took out a small piece of paper and wrote something on it.
"Here Secre, find Gauche-san and give it to him." said Sekme as he rolled the paper and tied it to Secre's leg.
Secre took off in the air and thought, 'Really, whatever would you do without me.' and then started looking out for Gauche.
Once Secre was gone Sekke and Anna along with the children came out of the bushes and Sekke said, "Let's get going, but before that...Hamster balls."
Two round transparent blue shells appeared around the kids seeing which the kids looked at it with surprise.
"You will be a bit safer in there, now follow what we ask of you okay?"
""Okay big brother."" said the kids with determination seeing which Sekke smiled.
Anna who saw that looked at Sekke and thought, '...He hasn't changed.' and her lips curved up a bit.
Sekke then picked up the big Hamster balls in his hands like they were nothing and looked at Anna.
"Let's go." and started running seeing which Anna started following him as well.
Sekke who was in the front made sure to not run too fast for the girl to be left behind and soon he noticed a few structures built further ahead.
He raised his hand to stop Anna and then gestured her to look towards the structures, seeing which she turned serious.
"Alright, seems like we came at their base." said Sekke.
"How should we approach them? Reveal that we are magic knights and ask them to surrender and then proceed to fight?" said Anna.
"It has bad idea written all over it." said Sekke.
"Then what attack from the get go?" asked Anna but in return Sekke just gave a smirk seeing which Anna nodded her head as well.
Sekke put the hamster balls down as both him and Anna stood side by side.
Their grimoires started floating and flipping pages and Sekke said, "Looks like the bandits are in for a bad time.
Sekke looked back at the kids and said, "Follow us but stop once we stop as well and stray beside Anna."
The kids nodded seeing which both Sekke and Anna looked in front and started running seeing which the kids ran behind them as well.

Sekke used his magic even before they jumped out of the bushes, not willing to give the bandits the chance to know what happened all of a sudden.
