The commotion outside grew louder and it seemed that an altercation was inevitable. Was it wise to hide in here? What if they set the wagon on fire?

'I'm with you, mama,' Kiera spoke enthusiastically, her childish voice didn't match her next words, 'We can eat them.'

How could such a small creature be always hungry?

'I'm growing.'

It's not showing.

'Are you height-shaming me?'

Where did you hear that expression? You know what, it doesn't matter. It was suffocating to sit in here and hiding while others were fighting made my fists itch.

I knew that was Duke's temper because of the mask I was wearing, but my options were to go with it or to remove the mask and reveal to a bunch of horny lizards that I was female. Also, Kiera's presence would be exposed, and that was a big no-no.
