Carter hoped that what he showed her in his vision would do the same for her soul—washing away the filth and degradation of her past and letting her rise above it. Knowing she was loved and her life had value for him and many others in her future.

Dahlia was acutely conscious of Carter's presence while she cried into her knees. Her mate's caring hands caressed her tenderly, trying to soothe her battered soul while he was cleaning her body.

All of his affectionate attention made it even more difficult for her to rein in her errant emotions.

"It's alright, Dahlia."

Her mate's lips placed a delicate kiss on the top of her head.

"Let the past be buried here tonight. Mourn the death of it and let your tears wash it away. So you can live a happier and brighter life with me."
