Shikaku then gave a brief explanation regarding the status of the other battlefields, and the meeting extended for close to an hour.
"Well, that's all for today's meeting. Follow the instructions, and make sure that our supply lines are not harassed. We lost two convoys just in the last month. You guys can leave, and Shikaku can stay back. We need to plan our upcoming moves," Jiraiya ordered all the captains within the meeting to disperse and carry on with their work.
The commander's tent was now occupied only by the Sannin and the Nara clan head."Jiraiya-sama, we have received an update from Tsunade-sama. She wants us to initiate the plan. She has already sent the fuinjutsu scrolls to Sandaime-sama." Shikaku was privy to the plan of capturing Bijuu, and to do so, each front would have to make at least a few months of careful preparation. With Tsunade's go-ahead, Jiraiya had to prepare. Originally, Jiraiya was reluctant, but then he decided to do it for Tsunade's sake. Only a few were privy to the exact plan.
"Fine, then make the preparations. Reassign the Shinobi that you need to carry out this mission. I hope she knows what she is doing, because by the time her plan succeeds, if we do not have enough strength, then we will suffer the wrath of all three villages simultaneously." Jiraiya knew the risk involved; catching the bijuu was not going to be the biggest obstacle, but dealing with the aftermath would be, and the toad sage understood it perfectly.
"Jiraiya-sama, I am sure Tsunade-sama wouldn't have taken such a massive risk without proper planning. I say we believe in her." Shikaku knew that his nephew was backing the Senju, and also because of Hiruzen's actions during the war, he preferred a new Hokage who might prove beneficial to the Nara.
And so, the plan to capture Bijuu on all three fronts was initiated. Kazuki's idea was simple: lay a huge trapping formation within which, once sufficiently weakened, the bijuu could be captured and extracted. However, the drawback was also evident. Although they did not need a high-level fuin master, the trap itself was large, and it would take months to lay the formation perfectly. They needed to do it without alerting the enemies, and they also needed to attract the bijuu within the formation to subdue the Jinchuriki along with the bijuu. The scrolls that Tsunade had sent were the core of the fuinjutsu formation and could only be produced by someone with high-level mastery of fuinjutsu.

Kirigakure Front
A colossal wave of water rushed towards the Leaf Shinobi, aiming to wipe them out with the tsunami. The party responsible for this action was none other than Utakata, the Six-Tails Jinchuriki of Kiri. After Obito suffered a loss at the hands of Shisui, he refrained from attempting to assassinate the Uchiha for their Sharingan out of caution. Even Zetsu kept a fair distance from him, as Shisui's Mangekyo ability was considered dangerous and a potential hindrance to future plans.
The Mizukage had regained control of himself because he had broken free of Obito's Genjutsu, so he was doing his best to rectify Kiri's situation in this war. Although they seemed aggressive in this war, Obito's initial interference had nearly brought Kiri to its knees. Obito's defeat was a blessing in disguise for Yagura and Kirigakure. Yagura's final trump cards were the bijuu, and he wanted to stall the Leaf side until the end of the war. Surrendering would force them to pay massive reparations to the Leaf.
"[Doton: Doryū Jōheki]" (Earth Release: Earth-Style Rampart): Multiple elite Leaf Shinobis formed a line and raised a colossal wall to counter the incoming tsunami. Utakata, noticing this, quickly transformed into his bijuu form and started charging a bijudama. However, the Leaf Shinobi couldn't do much because they were defending against the tsunami, relying on their confidence in their commander.
Fugaku, on standby, quickly formed his golden Susanoo the moment he detected Saiken forming the bijudama. He rushed towards the colossal bijuu and rammed it head-on with his golden Susanoo. The force of the impact was so strong that it interrupted the Six Tails bijudama. The two colossal entities started a brawl to overpower the other party.
Meanwhile, on another part of the battlefield, Uchiha elites were engaged in a deadly battle with the elite Kekkei Genkai Ninja of the Kaguya clan. The current Kiri still had a respectable number of clan Shinobi with bloodline limits, like the Kaguya, Yuki, Hozuki, etc. However, the recent actions of Kaguya members have raised concerns. Yagura decided to use the Kaguya clan as a vanguard to face the formidable Uchiha head-on. Yagura's intention was to kill off the Kaguya members without dirtying his own hands.
Two little Shinobi, one from the Uchiha clan and the other from the Kaguya clan, were locked in deadly combat. Although the Kaguya clan seemed fearsome, as the battle progressed, more Kaguya members fell, and the intensity of the clan members only increased. Even some of the Uchiha elites fell due to the relentless attack from the Kaguya clan members. However, none of the other Kiri members showed any concern for the deaths of their fellow village Shinobi; it was as if everyone within Kiri wanted the Kaguya Shinobi to vanish.
Itachi Uchiha maintained a certain distance from the Kaguya kid he was facing, none other than kid Kimimaro. Itachi realized that his opponent must be younger than himself but relatively better than some adult Kaguya Shinobi engaged in battle. Itachi flickered behind, intending to finish the battle with a kunai to his enemy's neck.
However, Kimimaro quickly reacted, "[Karamatsu no Mai]" (Dance of the Larch). Bone spikes sprouted out of Kimimaro's body, and Itachi flickered back to avoid being pierced by the bone spikes. Itachi now understood why the kid had been keen on closing the distance; Kimimaro was an anomaly even within the Kaguya clan.
After their clan patriarch realized that he had awakened the rare Kekkei Genkai trait—Shikotsumyaku (Dead Bone Pulse)—he had been wary of Kimimaro and had him locked up. The Kaguya patriarch even used a slow-acting poison passed down from their clan since ancient times to kill off Kimimaro before he matured. However, to others, once Kimimaro dies, it will look like he died due to some sort of illness.
"[Katon: Hōsenka Tsumabeni]" (Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson): Itachi, who retreated quickly, weaved hand signs and launched multiple shurikens infused with fire chakra to bombard Kimimaro. Kimimaro quickly reacted and dodged a few flame shurikens. However, Itachi kept firing more flame shurikens towards his target.
"[Teshi Sendan]" (Ten-Finger Drilling Bullets): Kimimaro countered the incoming projectiles with his own bone bullets. Kimimaro then created two short swords made of bones, one for each hand, and rushed forward to engage Itachi in close combat.
Meanwhile, Fugaku and Utakata were engaged in a fierce battle. Fugaku ensured that Utakata had no chance to charge a bijudama and launch it on the Konoha shinobi. The golden Susanoo quickly used its blade to deflect an incoming tail strike, and when the Six Tails wanted to continue the relentless strike, Fugaku activated his Mangekyou ability in one of his eyes.
"[Amaterasu]" A pitch-black flame engulfed the tail that was about to strike the Susanoo. The Six Tails Jinchuriki quickly retreated back to the shoreline because he could feel the threat from the black flames. Utakata used a large amount of water to douse the tail of the black flames, but it seemed useless.
The Six Tails, residing within Utakata, couldn't help but quickly yell at his Jinchuriki, "You damn fool! Water cannot douse such a flame; seal it with a fuin technique before the flame spreads." However, Utakata was dumbfounded because he didn't know any good techniques. "But Rokubi, I do not know any fuinjutsu; you should know that." Utakata and the Six Tails shared a neutral relationship; although they weren't friendly, the Six Tails would help him in times of need.
"Moron! Quick, switch with me. If you want to die, go and die alone in a pit somewhere; don't drag me along," Rokubi admonished his Jinchuriki. However, Utakata didn't retort but quickly gave control to the Six Tails. The black flame had now completely engulfed one of its tails, so it was too late to seal it. The bijuu quickly shot a large water blade and ruthlessly severed one of its own tails, which was on fire. The bijuu roared in anger due to the pain and charged again to clash with the Susanoo with more frenzy.
Rokubi released a large amount of acid fog to attack the Leaf Army. Fugaku decisively used a large-scale wind technique to create a sandstorm, pushing back the acid fog using the sand that covered the beach. "[Fūton: Mugen Saji-Daitoppa]." (Wind Release: Infinite Sand Cloud—Great Breakthrough), Fuagku also quickly followed through with a fire release technique to ignite the fog because the six tails was not showing any signs of slowing down the fog attack.
"[Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku]" (Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation) The colossal wave of fire that the golden Susanoo created collided with the fog. The moment they made contact, it resulted in a massive explosion that pushed both the six tails and Susanoo away from each other. The resulting explosion made both armies pause the battle for a few brief moments.
The battle has continued for quite some time now since the large-scale explosion. Both Fugaku and Utakata were trying to gain an upper hand in the battle. Shisui had refrained from using his mangekyou so as to guard against the unknown enemy, and the three tails was not taking part in today's battle. Currently, only a handful of Kaguya clan Shinobi remained, who might fall anytime soon. Even the Kaguya clan patriarch was killed by Shisui during combat. The elite Kiri Jonin who led this attack was carefully keeping an eye on the Kaguya Shinobi numbers. This particular attack was launched to cleanse the village of the Kaguya clan. When he realized that his hidden mission had succeeded and only a few Kaguya remained but were already berserk and at death's door, he decisively commanded the Kiri army to retreat back to their established defense line, leaving the remaining Kaguya members to their fate.
After a prolonged clash, the Uchiha elites completely wiped out the Kaguya clan members. Even Itachi finally overpowered Kimimaro and defeated him; Kimimaro's now-charred body lay with a kunai pierced through his chest, where his heart must have been. Itachi was surprised at how much of a challenge the Kaguya kid posed before being defeated by him; he couldn't help but praise his enemy for his resilience.
After the Kiri army retreated, Fugaku chose not to pursue the enemy, as the recent clash with the six tails had almost drained him of his chakra reserves. The Konoha Shinobi cleared the battlefield and quickly returned to their lines. A few minutes after the battlefield was cleared, a little white snake slithered through the battlefield, swallowing the corpses that were left behind. When the snake passed by a little charred corpse, it abruptly stopped as it could feel a very faint vitality from the fully charred body.
Suddenly, out of the blue, the little white snake opened its mouth really wide, and Orochimaru crawled out of its mouth, covered in snake slime. Orochimaru quickly moved near the corpse to examine it, and after close inspection, he realized that the little Shinobi was still alive. A small bone shield had been erected around the heart, preventing the kunai from piercing the heart completely.
"Quite interesting. You can manipulate your bones. You must have been special, even within the Kaguya clan. Now that everyone thinks you are dead, let me save you. You can serve me in the future," Orochimaru commented with a weird glint in his eyes. This was the first time he had come across such an interesting Kekkei Genkai, so he wanted to take it for himself. With a simple gesture from Orochimaru, the white snake quickly swallowed the remaining Kaguya clan corpses and finally that of little Kimimaro. Then Orochimaru vanished into the darkness.
