Chapitre 158: Moving into the Villa

(⌒▽⌒)☞☜(⌒▽⌒)

===================

Buying a house was a private matter, and Daisy asked the S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot to take a taxi back. She calmly sat in the driver's seat of the helicopter.

"Do you know how to fly a helicopter?" The real estate agent looked at Daisy in her urban home outfit, striped plaid shirt, cropped pants, and flip-flops, and found it hard to believe that Daisy could fly a plane.

In her previous life, some claimed that the United States had two million pilots. Daisy considered this claim to be a bit exaggerated. Let alone ordinary civilians, even trained agents like Fitz-Simmons, who theoretically knew how to fly, had no actual flight time beyond an hour.

Many ex-soldiers existed, but those with hands-on experience in flying were a minority.

Regular drivers weren't like Melinda May or Daisy. They didn't have the ability to fly out of thin air. In high altitudes, if a problem occurred with the aircraft and they lacked experience in solving such issues, they would have to choose between parachuting and waiting for death.

Becoming a pilot requires a substantial amount of time, excellent physical and mental qualities, the ability to handle unforeseen circumstances, and, with these qualifications, professional training and long flight hours to be considered 'proficient'.

Daisy didn't believe that there were two million pilots in the United States who met these criteria. If there were, there is no need for superheroes, just give them a plane and let them fight the aliens.

The real estate agent, now doubting that Daisy could fly a helicopter, felt the same way. I'm just selling a house; if you don't want it, just say so! Why are we talking about flying a plane?

"Rest assured, I'm an active-duty military officer, an Air Force Major." After the FBI, Daisy once again used her military rank to impress people, despite her actual flight time being just a few hours.

The title of Air Force Major convinced the real estate agent. After seeing Daisy pull out her Air Force ID card from a pile of ID cards, he immediately believed her!

Maki, Lorna, and the real estate agent all boarded the helicopter. Daisy personally piloted the aircraft, taking them to Long Island.

Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the city and the busy streets of the urban area, looking at the sea reflecting the faint moonlight, a sense of tranquility and comfort washed over them.

Along the long coastline were rows of villas. They observed from a distance without approaching.

Rich people had many problems. They often insisted on their private territory not being violated. If someone flew over their heads, they might greet them with a rocket launcher.

"That's the villa I mentioned to you." The real estate agent, unaware of Daisy's few hours of flying experience, only felt that Daisy was flying the helicopter quite steadily. By now, he had overcome his fear and was already calculating how much commission he would get if he could sell this villa.

He pointed to the southernmost villa on the coastline and introduced it.

To be honest, when Daisy saw this seaside villa from the sky, she kind of liked it. Long Island, surrounded on three sides by the sea, had a long, narrow shape distributed east to west. Although the latitude seemed similar on the map, the actual terrain differed.

The villa introduced by the real estate agent was in a prominent location, and there were no other villas around. It could be said to be a standalone property, exceptionally quiet. The villa had an exquisite design, fashionable without being overly complex.

"Don't worry about safety; the security here is very good. If you need, I can help you contact a security company..." The real estate agent suddenly realized that all three of them were young women. Although there was Daisy, the 'active-duty military officer,' there might still be safety concerns. He quickly explained.

Daisy just smiled and didn't say anything. Safety concerns? If they all needed to worry about safety, Americans might as well not live.

After landing, they entered the villa, and the real estate agent saw Daisy's interest and started to introduce it eagerly.

The villa was built by the seaside, occupying 1,300 square meters, with a European style and full stone decoration.

It had two floors, totaling eighteen rooms, including twelve bedrooms and six bathrooms, one of which was a super-sized master bedroom.

Additionally, there were also studios, home theaters, and gyms. It featured an art studio, a library, and a private underground wine cellar.

Facing the sea to the south, there were over 30 palm trees planted to decorate the courtyard to the north. Two outdoor swimming pools and a tennis court were built in the shade of the trees.

On the side of the villa, the designer had built two seemingly antique windmill cottages. The villa also came with a fifteen-acre private garden and a forest area three times the size of the garden, all owned by the villa's owner.

Daisy was very satisfied with the villa—too satisfied. The only drawback was that the villa's defense system was too rudimentary. A few access controls? At the very least, it needed some electric fences, laser scanners, infrared detectors, a couple of machine guns, and maybe even two missile silos are needed for it to be reasonable, right?

However, she didn't plan to give the real estate agent a hard time. Talking about missiles with ordinary people could be a bit terrifying. She tentatively asked about the price of the villa.

The result was not surprising. After various discounts due to the economic downturn and the slump in the real estate market, even after negotiating the price down, the villa still came at a hefty cost.

With all the paperwork completed and a total price of $85 million, Daisy subtly glanced at the maid, implying, Do we still have money now?

Maki nodded slightly. Shorting Stark was a lucrative venture. Although she had been shouting about selling everything to buy the supercomputer, in reality, the fees of two phases had been waived so far, and the payment for the third installment, as per the agreement, would only be due after one year of use. In other words, they hadn't spent any money yet. Buying a villa was not a significant financial burden.

"Buy it!" Daisy waved her hand confidently. "I'll take it!"

Paying the full amount was impossible. In this day and age, everyone paid in installments, and Daisy would follow suit.

Legal matters were left to Maki to handle. As a dominant force in the New York legal community, ordinary real estate companies wouldn't dare to provoke her.

Three days later, all the procedures were completed. Daisy Johnson finally bid farewell to her rental life and owned her first house.

Lorna had been following her around, unable to figure out why they were moving away from the city to the seaside.

However, she knew that this large house was something her birth mother and stepfather could never afford, even if they worked for two lifetimes.

After Daisy made two trips, bringing along her pet lion cub Dumpling and the rhinoceros that was fostered by her, she finally settled in.

Dumpling had become more and more spiritual. She was sensitive and somewhat afraid of the maid, but it got along well with Lorna.

As for Rhino, it remained unchanged, lazily lounging around. Daisy spent quite some time coaxing it with carrots before tricking it into the teleportation portal.

"From now on, this will be our new home!" Daisy declared loudly while standing barefoot on the exquisite and soft carpet.

Maki smiled without saying a word, Dumpling excitedly roared, while Lorna and Rhino remained expressionless.

With so many rooms, everyone could pick one. Daisy went straight to the master bedroom on the second floor—the best lighting, the largest room, and the ability to see the stars by opening the ceiling at night.
