I could tell that Jules was currently in danger.

I've been able to tell since the first time our eyes met across the swimming area, whereby that activity ended with him almost getting drowned after getting submerged by Malachi. I felt his panic that day, raw and powerful. It had caught me off guard that day, because that had been a completely new emotion for me.

Of course, I had walked out of the scene because I wasn't one to feel pity for anyone, and also because it had been none of my business.

I wasn't one to randomly concern myself with anything or anyone to begin with. I had been like that since I could remember. My father had always made sure to remind me that I was so different from everyone because I was an abomination and a mistake.
