Chapitre 29: An End And A Beginning(End)

A stunned expression was visible on my face. Yes, I was aware of the fact that I was an anomaly but I never expected to see such a message.

< Blue says it's obvious. Michael's skills cannot exist in the universe. >

'What a nice way to say that you are back.'

< Blue grins at Michael. Blue asks Michael to recall the things that happened after skill usage was banned. >

'Why that? I was captured by the trio before being forced to run away. I then rewrote the story which led to an early start of the apocalypse.'

< Blue sighs at Michael. Blue wants Michael to think about his usage of [Author's Skill] at that time. >

Oh, now I get it.

I used [Author's Skill] during the time period when skills were banned. No magic existed yet I was still able to make use of my unique skill.

< Blue wishes for Michael to not overthink things and to focus on the scenario ahead. With time, Michael will understand the uniqueness of his skill. >

'Weird…'

< Blue wishes for you to look at the description of your skill. >

With a confused expression, I pulled up the skill information on [Author's Skill].

===

[Author's Skill] [Unique]

- An ability that has never existed till now. No one knows the true potential and power of this ability.

Available Skills:

> Author's Memory: With focus, certain parts of '#$*' can be recalled. Might not work at times due to fish brain memory.

> Author's Eyes: ???(information not available)

> Author's Description: ???(information not available)

===

The details of the unique changed after being inaccessible for a few hours. Since the particular skill didn't exist in the Golden Scroll, Blue must have been responsible for changing its information.

< Blue says it's true. >

With a nod, I opened my status screen to see the changes it faced.

===

Name: Michael Solanski

Race: Human

Skill: None

Supporter: None

Overall Stats: Strength Lv. 7, Agility Lv. 9, Physique Lv. 8, Strategy Lv ???, Magic Power Lv. ???

===

At this point, I wasn't surprised by the changes. My three numerical stats were reevaluated and provided a more accurate representation of my current physical power.

"Not half bad," I murmured.

My stats were around the top athletes or people who stayed in the military for quite some time.

< Blue suggests Michael to rest up before the scenario starts. Blue will wake Michael up in case Vin wakes up or anything strange happens. >

'I was unconscious for the past three days you know.'

< Blue argues that sleeping and being unconscious are two different things. >

'Whatever.'

< Blue urges Michael to do as told. It will work in Michael's favor only. >

'All right, all right.'

I raised my hands in defeat and slumped on the floor. The blue-haired boy seemed dead set on forcing me to sleep.

The polished wooden floor felt hard against my back. I closed my eyes and much to my surprise, I felt sleepy.

Maybe Blue was telling the truth.

< Blue chuckles and is making an 'I told you so' expression. >

'Just let me sleep…'

Soon enough, I drifted away.

***

< Michael. >

< Michael. >

< MICHAEL! >

A thunderous mechanical voice echoed inside my head, forcing me to wake up. I sat up straight, summoning fire in case I needed it to hit someone.

'What?'

< Blue is sighing at Michael's behavior. Blue asks Michael to look at his ally. >

On his words, I shifted my gaze to look at Vin. Her dazed eyes had almost returned to their normal blue look.

The color of her face brightened a bit as well.

I stood up from the ground and went to stand in front of her. As she finally returned to her normal self, she looked at me with a tired expression.

"Now you know why it felt like a few hours to me," Vin murmured.

"Were you seeing some kind of vision?"

Vin nodded. Her eyes seemed tired from whatever vision she experienced.

"What did you see?"

"…I can't tell you that." Vin averted her gaze.

"Why?"

"Consequences."

To prove her words, Vin opened her mouth to say something but stopped when a blue glow surrounded her body.

This blue glow was the physical representation of something called 'consequences'. In simpler terms, a consequence was the law of the current universe.

Similar to how the police on Earth dealt with the humans who broke laws, consequences dealt with those who broke the rules of the Golden Scroll. The Entertainers could enforce it but most of the time, consequences activated on their own.

"You didn't make any kind of deal, did you?" I questioned Vin in a serious tone.

"No, I am not that dumb. I know making deals early on is super bad and I will regret it." Vin shook her head. "I don't know how but I can see certain things. I don't have any control over it."

< It seems similar to Michael's skill. >

'But I have control over it.'

< Michael does not have any control over Blue. Blue is a free being. >

I ignored that.

'We don't even know what skill allows her to do this. It can be a unique skill that never existed in the first place.'

< Yes, that possibility exists. Michael should carefully try to figure it out without facing any consequences. >

I agreed with Blue on this. However, finding more information about Vin's vision had to wait.

[ Time remaining: 10 seconds. ]

"The second scenario is about to begin soon."

"Yeah. Do you think we can survive?" Vin questioned.

"With our knowledge, yes. We just have to do the right thing."

+

[ Scenario #1: An End and A Beginning is over. ]

[ Congratulations! You have successfully completed the scenario!

Rewards: Upgrade system, Apocalypse Shop. ]

[ You can now upgrade your stats! ]

[ You can now purchase items for Glens! To check your Glens, simply think or say the word 'Glens' ]

+

With that, the first scenario officially came to an end. Though it didn't proceed the way I wanted it to, I managed to survive the first scenario.

Looking at the amount of Glens I possessed, I felt nice.

[ Glens(G): 12,529 G]

Currently, I had no plans of spending the Glens on any stats or items. The nicer items only appeared a day or two after the beginning of the second scenario.

There was a particular unknown yet power cheat item that I wished to buy. I just needed to wait a while to buy it.

Once the rewards were distributed, a blue window opened in front of me and Vin. Inari, the Entertainer, made an appearance on the window.

Behind her, Vin and I caught the appearance of Valencia Hall. Golden sparks flew all around the building, indicating the usage of magic.

Inari smiled while looking at the screen.

"Ahem, I hope I am audible to all of you because this is something you should carefully listen to. A large number of you managed to clear the first scenario. I am happy to see so many people surviving.

By now, you must have realized that this is not a dream. This is your reality. Your previous reality has ended and this is a new beginning for you. Some of you can now live the life you once dreamed about."

For some reason, Inari spoke motivating words. My information on Inari was limited but from my experience so far, she seemed to be a fair Entertainer.

She continued on with her explanation.

"From now onwards, your life will be viewed by the 'Viewers' of this universe. I hope you put on a good show for them because they can help you become stronger. The further scenarios won't be easy.

But if you manage to survive, the rewards will be worth it. I am in charge of monitoring the streaming of the second scenario here. Let's have a nice scenario."

With that, Inari smiled and dismissed the screen recording. She didn't seem like a cruel Entertainer who would do anything in order to increase their ranking and become more respected.

She simply wanted people to participate in the scenarios with enthusiasm.

"She seems nice." Vin said my thoughts aloud.

"I know but you should never let your guard down against an Entertainer. Their loyalty is towards the Golden Scroll."

This particular trait ensured that they did their job well and never put anything above it. What a twisted thing for someone to follow.

[ A new scenario has arrived! ]

I closed my eyes for a few seconds after seeing this window. From now onwards, my decisions might change the entire course of the future I wrote.

The name of the first scenario truly described the current conditions I faced. Things changed for every person on Earth.

Those who forsake their lives and those tired by living gained a new chance at living. Perhaps their lives might improve whereas some people might think of the new world as a living hell. One thing was for sure.

It was an end and a beginning not just for me but for Earth.

I opened my eyes, determined to clear the next scenario easily.

With that, the details of the second scenario appeared in front of my face.
