Chapitre 5: Warrior

Lying down, my thoughts seem clearer, more orderly, when the Virtual Experimentation chip echoes: "Data classification completed!" My mind instantly focuses on a new instruction, and I issue another mental command without hesitation: "Create a new file called 'Charles Vol,' and save it!"

The reassuring sound of a beep responds, indicating that the file has been created as requested. But there's no time for pauses. "New task," I command, "search the file for all possible methods to quickly improve strength!"

"Beep! Task established. Beginning search..." The hologram materializes before my eyes, and a torrent of information flows through it, as if painting a picture in front of me.

"Search complete! Results: 231 methods!" There's a pause as I absorb the numbers. Then, I determine: "Remove those with an estimated success rate below 70%. Additionally, add another requirement: I must be able to perform the strengthening method now. Begin filtering!"

"Beep! Filter completed. Remaining methods: 2!" The response is quick and precise, and I move forward, eager to see my options. "Show them to me!" And then the hologram shifts, leaving only two options.

"Method 1: Become a Mage."

"Method 2: Start training to become a Warrior."

My mind processes the information quickly, evaluating the pros and cons of each path. This is a crucial moment, and my next choice will shape my destiny. But one thing is certain: I am ready to take on the challenge and embark on the journey towards my own greatness.

"Oh! Method 1 isn't realistic right now…" I murmured to myself, pondering the first option presented by the chip. "At least, not until I get to the Mage school. Otherwise, how could I learn to become a Mage? As for Warrior training, I wonder what that's like?"

My mind was filled with doubts as I reflected on the possibilities. But it didn't take long for me to decide to investigate the second option further. "Chip," I called, ready to delve deeper into the quest for knowledge, "gather all the memory on Warrior training. Organize it properly and send it to my memory!"

Instantly, the data flowed directly into my brain, and I began to absorb the information. Soon, I was starting to understand what it meant to be a Warrior in this world full of mysterious forces.

Most commoners and lower nobility chose to become Warriors, according to the memories now filling my mind. They underwent rigorous training, stimulating their inner bodily energy to limits beyond what a normal human could achieve.

These Warriors had extraordinary physical attributes, far beyond average. That was why William's punch, which I had witnessed earlier, nearly took Pimpou's head off. I was sure that punch was controlled, for if William had really wanted to, he could have done much more damage. It was impressive and somewhat frightening to think about the power they possessed after undergoing such intense training.

To be a Mage required a specific kind of gift. Among tens of thousands of people, it was possible that there wasn't even one with that gift. It was a genetic luck, a rare gift granted to a few chosen ones. But being a Warrior was different. As long as they were willing to exert themselves, anyone could become a Warrior!

Warriors were a force to be reckoned with. Not only were their physical attributes several times superior to normal humans, but they were also skilled in the use of various weapons as well as the arts of killing. Some of them even possessed special secret abilities that could trigger a sudden burst of power!

In the realms of the common world, alongside the nobility, Warriors were the backbone of society. However, most noble offspring were lazy. After all, they had Warrior servants who could execute their orders, so they saw no reason to strengthen themselves.

The Vol family, to which I now belonged, was one such family with several Warriors. Our original founder fought in wars alongside the king and rendered many meritorious services. As a reward, we were granted the title of Baron, along with corresponding properties.

After a general analysis of the information about Warriors and their importance, a scene from the past came to my mind as vividly as if it were happening again.

It was a small jungle, part of the Baron's vast properties. I was just a child at the time, and George Vol, the Baron, wore a warrior's outfit, his stern expression standing out on his face. He stood before me, imparting a precious family heritage with a solemn and determined air.

"Today, I will teach you a secret skill, a technique passed down through generations in the Vol family: The Rapid Fist Technique and the accompanying breathing techniques," he said firmly. "You must remember that you can never teach this to anyone outside our family!"

At that moment, Baron Vol's face took on unprecedented seriousness, making it clear that this was a matter of great importance and responsibility.

Unfortunately, at that time, the former owner of this body was just a child, and he didn't fully understand the importance of those words and that special skill. Perhaps it was fear of the unknown or simply a lack of maturity to understand. Either way, the former Charles didn't give due importance to the Baron's teaching.

The Baron tried to motivate him to train a few times, but his fear of discomfort and fatigue was greater than any desire to learn. Eventually, he gave up, resigned to the reluctance to embrace the family tradition. And so, that special skill and the associated lessons were forgotten, lost in the labyrinth of my childhood memory.

"Damn it… an overly kind father leads to a son's failure!" I murmured to myself, letting out a sigh of frustration. Only now did I realize how the previous owner of this body had become a spoiled brat.

The young Charles, whom I now had vivid memories of, only knew how to act like a playboy, completely oblivious to his family's legacy and the Warrior training for the secret skill passed down by the Vols. But the current Charles, with the help of my chip, had managed to regain all of that.

In my mind, the details of the rapid strike technique: Central Punch, Vertical Kick, Piercing Knee, Inclined Punch... Each movement was clear, every stance, every combat strategy.

And then came the accompanying breathing technique. It was as if I were experiencing each deep and controlled breath, as if I were feeling the energy flowing through me.

All the lessons Baron Vol had given were now mine to master. The last memory that formed was the most impressive: Baron Vol releasing a white mist from his mouth, Flexing the muscles of his right arm masterfully and with just one punch splitting a stone as large as a millstone in two with a single blow!

The image was so vivid it seemed to be happening right before my eyes, and I felt a mix of admiration and determination. I will not be like the previous damage, negligent and uninterested in my own potential.

"A Warrior is considered the lowest mysterious power, yet they are already so strong! What kind of existence are those Mages who are above Warriors?" I found myself reflecting, my eyes burning with intense passion.

But soon I laughed at myself, aware of the need to stay calm. "Calm down! Haha... I have to take things step by step," I murmured to myself. "I better focus on the Warrior breathing technique first! Anyway, Warrior training doesn't hinder Mage training. At least I'll have some measure of self-defense."

After a detailed analysis, I found that the so-called breathing technique of this world was very similar to the meditation in the Buddhist temples of my previous world, but much rawer. It relied much more on external stimuli to activate internal bodily energy.

"According to rumors," I recalled, my mind absorbing information as I reflected on the Warriors' teachings, "if a Warrior undergoes training and still cannot activate their internal bodily energy, the only option is to enter the battlefield and go through fierce and bloody battles. This is the only other way to trigger their internal bodily energy and become a Perfect Warrior!"

This idea was both thrilling and daunting. I wondered if I was ready to face such a challenge, but one thing was certain: I was determined to master all the skills necessary to become a true Warrior, whatever the cost.

"Chip, transfer to me the knowledge of the Rapid Strike technique!" I ordered, determined.

In response, a torrent of information flooded my mind, as if I were absorbing knowledge directly from the finest martial arts masters. Every movement, every strategy, every nuance of the Rapid Strike technique was deeply ingrained in my brain, as if I had been training in it since I was young.

"Isolate the Rapid Strike technique and save it in a new file, with the file name 'basic of the Rapid Strike technique'!" I commanded the chip, leveraging its ability to organize and store information efficiently.

"New File Saved: basic of the Rapid Strike technique," came the chip notification, and a smile formed on my lips. With the help of the virtual experimentation chip, my learning speed would be incredibly fast – fast enough to make any genius blush!
