The novel itself is pretty enjoyable. Though others dont like the characterisation of the mc, I enjoyed it. However, the romance was a bit much. It felt unnatural-oh, the big bad isn't marrying to expand his power, no, he's marrying for love. And then he participates in the death of his wife, who he loved???? A bit much.
