From what I remember of the anime , its a technique so it must cost chakra, thus it should be manual. I could be wrong though, I have watched Naruto a long time ago

Yeah, While that is true, I thought myself that if he can't get hurt by literally anything thats not Haki ( that isn't there in the Naruto world), He will be effectively invincible.(after all, you all wouldn't like if I made water his counter). So I made this theory since One piece users have tremendous stamina, the logia body must consume some to function. So yeah, Stamina is a thing here, also again if the invulnerability was a automatic thing then who can even defeat him. So since he got Amaterasu, not just any flame logia but the strongest ones, there is one drawback of stamina and manual control.

My younger brother was born and unfortunately, my mom died while giving birth to him. While I felt sad about her, I actually didn't know her all that well, just that she came from a big undercover mission and then nine months at home.
