A pair of shadows rushed by and stopped for just a moment.

"LEAVE! I will hold them back!"

"NO! They are too strong! You won't survive! I'll stay with you till the end!"

The slightly taller shadow shook its head. "I won't make it much farther. And you need to protect 'him'. Please go, there's no time to waste."

*Guuwwhhhh* Noxtis shook awake as the hazy scene rapidly slipped from his mind. Despite his best attempts to remember what had just happened, the details and words slipped away until Fortis was left with only a faint unease lingering behind.

Startled, Ember woke up as well and looked around in a daze trying to figure out what happened. "Huuuu wahh happ?"

Brushing her hair softly, Noxtis shook his head and cooed. "It's alright Ember, just a weird dream. How are you feeling?"

Yawning deeply, Ember sat up in the bed and stretched her sore leg muscles. Checking inside her dantian, she saw a pair of floating swords with stunningly beautiful hilts and guards.
