Bab 3: Becoming a Royal Mage???

*Levi POV*
It's finally the day of my awakening ceremony. Everyone my age is headed to the Academy to get our attributes tested.
Inside the hall, I can see a lot of people. Not just commoners but nobels as well. I'm guessing they're either here to scout talents cuz why would nobles come here with commoners. I've heard nobles can sponsor children to attend the academy, in exchange they will have to work for said noble after graduation. It would be good to get sponsors.
Suddenly a man walked of the balcony box. The man was wearing luxurious clothes and medal of gold hung all over him. A Knight beside him commanded "BOW BEFORE THE SUN OF CHRONOS, EMPEROR ALEXANDER DIA CHRONOS! "
The commoners knelled and the nobles bowed. I would also kneel of course. The only thought I had is that why would the Emperor be here? Is he here to scout? If so wouldn't he let someone else come?
"People of Chronos, we have come to day to witness the awakening ceremony of the future pillars of our country. I have come to attend this year's ceremony with, my daughter, Princess Liliana LI Chronos who will also be having her ceremony here per tradition. I hope excellent mages will be born today. "said the Emperor.
" ALL HAIL THE EMPEROR!!! " x N, the number of people there.
Then the ceremony started. The first would be the Princess followed by the nobles, rich people's kid, organization such as the orphanage, and finally the commoners.
The magic circle for the ceremony , which was a large ass wheel on the wall with 7 orbs circling one bigger orb.

Awakening Circle: use to identify the attribute of an individual.
The rune is a giant circular stone fixed to the wall. It has 7 orbs surrounding a bigger orb in the middle. It has, marking all over it and a stone tablet with the shape of a hand.
The 7 orbs, or called Elemental Orbs represent the 7 elements of base magic according to their colour. Red - Fire, Blue - Water, Green - Wind, Yellow - Earth, Purple - Lightning, White - Light, Violet - Shadow.
The bigger orb in the middle, or called the Arcana Orb represent Arcana Magic, which does not specify which arcana magic.
The hand is placed on the stone tablet to start the ceremony. The circle will absorb a bit of your mana and calculate your attributes and mana pool capacity.
The orb to the elements you are attributed will light up when you put your hand on the stone tablet.
The runes will light up with different intensity according to the amount of mana you possess.

The Princess got excellent results with all 7 elements and a good amount of mana. Some nobles score average while some are almost of the princess's result. Commoners result are mostly below average whit some as exceptions.
Then came my turn. I walked to the magic circle, placed my hand on the tablet. All the orbs lit up. I mean all, including the Arcana orb. The runes gave out blinding lights. It blinded everyone.
I retracted my hand and the light stopped. Everyone in the hall was speechless. Only 1 out of a million people will be born with Arcana magic. The nobles were the most speechless as they believed themselves to be superior especially in magic, which was how their ancestors got a noble ranking in the first place. All the past Arcana mages have been born from Nobles or Royalty. This caused them to believe that they are superior in magic. They couldn't believe that a comonner possess arcana magic.
The silence was broken by the Emperor. "Hahaha ha" (just in machine how a king would laugh in excitement or you can just relate tu Julius form Black Clover)
"Child, how would you like to work in the Palace. Such talent are hard to come by. The amount of mana is also unexpected. What do you say. Child?" the king continued
'what's the point of asking huh? It's not like I can reject you. If I did I'll be executed. Maybe not cuz I have acarna magic now.' I thought before I kneel down and reply" I would be my pleasure, My Lord. "
" Good. My knight's will escort you to the Palace tomorrow. You will take a test for Royal Mages and live in the Palace for the time being. You may return home to pack your valuables and inform your guardians." the Emperor said before returning to his seat.
" Yes, My Lord" I replied. I went back to my group and the ceremony continued.
That night, I was called to the directors office. The was praising me on and on and some other stuff about remembering the orphanage and somethimg something..... Bla Bla bla. (not important stuff)
(The next day)
As the Emperor said, knight arrived and escorted me to the Palace.
The Palace is huge and beautiful. Its decorated with jewels and heavily guarded. It seems I hard to sneek out were my only taughts. Of course I'm gonna sneek out cuz why not, right?
I was escorted to the mage quarters. It's a place where Royal Mages rest. Each Royal Mage has their own room as was I even if I wasn't officially one yet.
The place looked empty so I asked the knights. I was told that the Mages are at their towers, on duty or in their rooms doing magic stuff and bla bla bla (unimportant information). I guess being a mage is hard work huh?
Now that I think about it, what does a Royal Mage do? Seems I need to ask my seniors when I see them or if I could even see them at all. Only time will tell.
I arrived at my room, the knight inform me the the test will be in a month and if I pass I will officially be a Royal Mage, but if I fail I'll attend the academy until I'm capable enough. All living necessities and food will be provided. I'll recieve monthly allowance according to my performance.
Not bad right? I get a place to live, food, everything I need and even allowance. What more can I ask? And the best part is I don't even need to pass the test. If I pass I'll be a Royal Mage, and if I don't I'll eventually still be one. The knight didn't inform me any work or task so I huss I'm free for a month?
With that I started tho explore the Palace with a knight escort.
(A/N: pls comment on this if you are reading. I don't want to write a 100 chapters then find out no one reads this. I might go crazy if that happens. Or I'll just keep writing cuz I like it hehe.)
