Bab 26: Charmander vs Nidoking
The battle started with Nidoking bending his body and dashing towards Charmander as its horn glowed white
" Charmander dragon tail on the ground and use Sunny day ".
Charmander dodged the attack by propelling himself in another direction by dragon trail and shot a ball of yellow light into the air that illuminated the area around them.
Nidoking looked towards Charmander and shot a poison sting.
" Protect and use ember " A translucent shield appeared in front of Charmander blocking the attack while he shot a wave of fire from his tail towards Nidoking.
Nidoking dodged and dashed toward Charmander with Poison-type energy on his hands, Charmander countered the poison jab with metal claws, not giving him a chance to retaliate Charmander used a flamethrower at the face of Nidoking.
Charmander wanted to immediately initiate his next attack but Aoki gave a different command.
"Use the thickest layer of dragon-type energy you can muster into your feet"
Just as Aoki predicted, the ground under Charmander exploded blasting Charmander into the air.
It was Nidoking's earth power.
Charmander who was in the air somehow minimized the attack while applying dragon-type energy to his feet.
"Charmander rotation flamethrower and flame claw "
Nidoking shot a sludge bomb at Charmander who was falling towards him. Charmander roasted his body to become a wheel of flames and cut through the poison attack and just as he reached near Nidoking he used flame claws on the face of Nidoking who tried to block by crossing his arms but it was not enough.
'The Nidoking's moves are weaker than expected.
Even Weepinbell's poison is stronger than the Nidoking. The power of earth power is a joke. If that was properly trained, one earth power would have been enough to deal with Charmander.'
'Seems like the Nidoking had evolved into his final stage without fully maturing.' Aoki concluded.
Nidoking used thrash while Charmander used the combo switching between metal, flame, and dragon claw.
Aoki carefully instructed Charmander to avoid getting hit as much as possible. Misty was both amazed and shocked to see Charmander fight like a professional fighter, unlike the time when he fought against Brock.
Nidoking used leer to decrease Charmadner 's defense so Aoki ordered Charmander to use work up to increase his attack even more. He could have asked Charmander to use Growl to lower Nidoking's attack power but Growl from an intermediate-level Pokemon would not have much effect on a master-level Pokemon.
Mini tremors occurred every time they clashed, the pack was surprised to see that a small pokemon was fighting on equal grounds against their soon-to-be leader but their respect for him didn't decrease as they have fought against him before and know his strength.
Charmander didn't manage to dodge one attack and got smashed into the ground by getting a hit from the horn which dealt large damage.
Charmander got angry and started blasting flamethrowers at Nidoking without restraint abandoning the proper control that he did till now.
'I need to give him emotion control training more' thought Aoki
Nidoking used a sludge wave and sent a wave of poison toward Charmander. Charmander enveloped the wave of poison in a vortex of fire using fire spin.
Their clash continued with both of them taking damage but the damage taken by Charmander was more than Nidoking.
Due to the damage taken Charmander's blaze character trait activated making his attacks now started dealing serious damage to Nidoking.
With each attack the power and speed behind Charmander increased, pushing a giant Pokemon like Nidoking into a corner.
This was the most important phase of the battle so Aoki's entire concentration was on commanding Charmander to deal maximum damage and not get hit as a single rock and ground type move would be game over now.
Charmander's teeth turned red as he used a fire fang and bit into Nidoking's horns.
Nidoking moved his head and slammed Charmander to the ground and charged a hyper beam.
" Charmander smokescreen and Dragon breath ".
A massive amount of smoke came out of Charmander's mouth-filling the vision of Nidoking and with the dragon breath in addition to the damage managed to paralyze Nidoking.
Charmander took the chance and fired a dragon breath and flamethrower which blasted Nidoking along with the smoke, causing a massive explosion.
This attack brought Nidoking to his knees but his pride didn't allow him to do down, with the remaining energy he shot a hyper beam towards Charmander.
" Charmander ! dodge at any cost and use dragon breath full power "
The eyes of Charmander turned red as he dodged and released a dark blue stream of dragon breath collided with the hyper beam creating a massive explosion and shockwave sliding some Nidorinos backward.
The smoke cleared and what was uncovered was the fallen body of Nidoking while Charmander was still standing with a grin
Charmander said giving out a roar " Who is weak now huh! "
Weepinbell and Pidgeotto saw his behavior and thought " here he goes again "
The Nidorans and Nidorino approached the Nidoking with worry on their faces. Among all the Nidorans one male had a fascination in his eyes in place of worry.
"If he can defeat the big brother in spite of being smaller than him, how much stronger can he make me? I must go with him! "
The Nidoqueen saw her child's behavior and was saddened a bit, it was clear that the trainer would make her child stronger but parting ways with one's child was never easy.
Aoki approached the Nidoking and used some super portions on him which started to heal his injuries " he should be up in a few hours ".
He did the same for Charmander and gave him some poke blocks to replenish his energy. But at that moment the trees behind them broke apart which sent everyone on alert.
The ground shook as a group of 10 Gravellars led by a Golem appeared near the camp and in front of them expressions they didn't come in peace.
The Golem looked towards the fallen Nidoking and gestured to all the Gravellars to attack as he rolled towards him to kill him.
The leader of the attacker group of a Golem which was on the level of the scar face Nidoking.
The Nidoqeueen saw this and gestured to one of her pack members to protect the Nidorans while she dashed to clash with the Golem.
" Weepinbell go assist the Nidoqueen, Pidgeotto, and Charmander go help the others in defeating the Gravelars"
Misty's pokemon also got to work in defeating the Gravellars, her water pokemon depth massive damage to the Gravellars as they were 4 times weak to water.
"Beware of the explosion attack Misty, they will take out themselves and your Pokemon " Misty heeded the advice and only used ranged attacks.
One Graveler used Explosion near the Nidorans but Charmaner used Protect and blocked the attack while defeating him with an iron tail.
The fascination of the male Nidoran for Charmander increased more.
The Golem fell to a disadvantage against the combined effect of Weepinbell and Nidoqueen and feel defeated, Nidoqueen didn't wait and ended its life.
In just under 30 minutes the entire battle was completed with no one from the Niqo family dead.
A while later the leader Nidoking returned while dragging the corpse of another master-level Golem with injuries all over his body earning praise from all members.
A few hours later Nidoking woke up and saw the situation. He was extremely grateful to Aoki and Misty for protecting his squad members.
Aoki and Misty were allowed to sleep while the Nidoqueen kept watching for additional attacks.
The next morning Aoki prepared breakfast for everyone after which they packed their things to leave.
It was Nidoking's time for his part of the agreement.
The male Nidoran came forward before everyone and presented his wish to go with Aoki. His parents didn't stop him from going and asked Aoki and his Pokemon to take good care of him.
"Do you want to be strong? " asked Aoki
The Nidoran nodded
"Do you want to explore the world? "
The Nidoran nodded again.
"I shall give you the opportunity to become strong, show me you have the will to stand at the top"

Nidoran gave a cry of determination as if saying you can trust me.
Aoki presented a Pokeball in front of Nidoran who clicked and entered the Pokeball.
Aoki and Misty bid farewell to the Nidofamily and continued their journey towards Mount Moon.
" Good you Aoki, what Pokemon do you want to catch next ? " asked Misty
" I will try to catch a Clefairy next and if not already try to get a good quality moonstone "
"There are rumors of Clefairy in the Mount Moon but finding them would be very difficult "
"Isn't that the main fun of being a trainer; exploring the unknown, seeing new places"
" That's true, the only reason I am going to Mount Moon is that you are with me, or else I would have avoided that place. "
" Don't tell me you are scared of the dark "
" Of course not….. it just creeps me out "
" Don't worry your charming boyfriend will protect you from the scary monster "
" Repeat that again and I am hitting you "
" Fine Fine, I don't want my tomboy mad at me do I " teased Aoki as he started running
" YOU!! " Shouted Misty as she started to run after him.
