Bab 9: A talk with gods
It's already ten in the night, and I couldn't fall asleep. I've seen my biological mother for the first time, and yet, I don't know how to feel.
A part of me is happy since I was able to meet her, but I was confused on why she looked like that. I had too many questions, but they would only be answered when I fall asleep.
I sighed and stood up to go for a walk, I gently pried Blakes arms off me and tip toed my way outside.
Once I reached the deck, I looked up at the sky to see the shattered moon. I know I don't know much of the show, but you have to admit, the shattered moon looks nice.
I spent the next few minutes outside thinking on what to say, and what to do. But I knew I couldn't stay out for long.
So, I went to the mess hall to make myself some warm milk, and added some hot coco. Just because I have the mind of a man, that doesn't mean I can't enjoy some hot coco.
After finishing my drink, I went back to the cabins and laid next to Blake, who instinctively wrapped her arms around me.
I did the same to her and closed my eyes and let the sleep take me, after having my eyes closed, I opened them and saw I was standing in a white void.
Looking around me, I saw four people. One of them was a being of pure light, with deer antlers sprouting from his head.
The second figure, a being of pure darkness, I could feel death just looking at him. I quickly looked away from the figure and saw the third one.
They had white fur all around their body, and blue lines on his arms. His hands where pitch black and two goat hooves for feet.
And the final figure, was the one I saw today. My mother, she wore a white yukata that had multiple branches of Sakura trees, nine tails appeared behind her, and two ears.
"So, the child has finally arrived." Spoke the being in darkness, I could hear that his voice carried sarcasm and was confused.
"Brother, please. His family was dragged into the war." Rebuked the being of light, the being then sighed and turned towards me.
"Apologies young one, but the reason why we are all here is to discuss." My mother then knelt in front of me and hugged me tight.
Her body shivered at first, then I heard sniffles. And soon, she was bawling and gripping me with all her might.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry my son." She said through her sobs, I returned her hug and felt a few tears fall from my eyes.
"I-It's okay." I replied, and the two of us stayed like this until she was able to calm down.
"Such a wonderful reunion, sadly I had hoped it would be in different circumstances." Spoke the being with fur.
"It dosent matter, all things are the same, mortals live, then they die." The being of darkness then kept silent when the being of light looked at him.
"Enough, his family had nothing to do with their war, you are at fault here, as am I." I was confused on what they were talking about, but as if on cue the animal figure coughed.
"It seems we are getting of topic." He said, and five chairs appeared behind us. We all sat down and I began to wonder why three gods where here.
"Introductions are in order, I am the god of light." He then pointed at the being of darkness.
"And this is ny brother, the god of distraction." Said god didn't bother to do anything, only crossing his arms.
"We would like to apologize for what has transpired for your family, and explain on what happened." The animal figure then raised his hand and spoke.
"I will tell him, it's for the best." The god of light nodded his head, while the god of darkness grumbled.
"Many years ago, the two gods created the world of remnant." He started, and the white void transformed into the darkness of space.
And a large planet was in the center of us, I knew that this planet was remnant and I was curious on what he wanted to tell me.
"The god of light created life on the planet, he created the grass, the trees, the fruits and vegetables, and finally, humans." The planet then began to change.
Instead of a planet of rock, some parts began to change blue, representing the sea, and other parts green, representing the trees grass.
The planet then zoomed in, showing multiple humans building homes, creating family's, and even making a village.
"While the god of darkness only brought death and distraction." A part of remnant began to darken, the land around it showed withered and faded away.
And large black puddles began to appeared on the deserted land, multiple Grimms began to surface and began to roar, howl, screech and hiss.
"And the two gods gifted humanity the knowledge to defend themselves, magic." The humans began to use magic to repel the Grimm, and creating their own kingdoms.
"While I, the animal god, created the first Faunus." The planet then began to spin and slowly stopped, and in front of us was a large mountain.
Looking at the snow that surrounded it, I saw a fox with nine tails trotting across it. Following a rabbit, it stayed low to avoid being seen.
It then pounced onto the rabbit, and snapping its neck. With the rabbit dead, the Kitsune carried it in its jaws.
It travels for miles until it arrives at a small hole, with its small body, it was able to drag the corps through it.
After a few minutes, it arrived at a large cave, but their was sunlight pouring from above. It then changed into a human, bearing the same ears, and eyes.
In front of him, was a woman, in her arms she held a baby, the tails were barely poking out, but its ears were twitching from the noise.
"The two created a family, extending its lineage, from generation to generation. Until she was born." This caught my attention on why he emphasized about a woman.
But the god of darkness spoke to continue the story.
"A king, who was filled with grief after his wife's death, locked his daughter away, and turned into a tyrant." Explained, and the scene shifted again.
This time, showing a man with riches srruounding him, and behind him, was a tower.
The scene then changed inside the tower, showing a woman with white skin and blond hair.
"She received everything she asks for, money, dresses, decor, but there was one thing she lacked, love." He said, and the scene shifted.
"She always wanted to feel what love was like, and she finally got it." The scene then showed a man with dark skin and dawned a large armor that was green.
"She fell in love with a man named Ozma, who over threw her father. And was able to give her what she lacked." The scene showed the two of them happy with one another.
"But that happiness didn't last, and death came to collect its toll." The scene then showed Ozma dead, while Salem cried next to him, begging him to wake up.
"She begged my brother to revive her husband, but he denied her request and casted her out. But not without a price" He said with a bit of pride, and continued the story.
"He cursed her with immortality, and would join her husband if she learned the value of life and death." The god of light then looked away in shame.
"I should have left her as a mortal, not giving her immortality." He commented with sadness, the god of darkness then continued.
""She then came to me, saying how I was better than him." His voice changed from pride to resentment.
"She used my lonlines against me, and was able to fool me that she asked me first." The god of light placed his hand on his shoulder.
"My brother and I argued, saying how she begged me to revive her husband, but he exposed her lies." He finished and bowed his head.
"After she fooled me, she met with each king and lied to them, saying they can obtain immortality." The scene showed her talking to each king, asking them to strike her down.
But each time they did so, she stood back up unharmed. The king agreed, and she did the same with the other three.
"She then brought them to my home, and attacked us. But, it did not rule in her favor." Said the god if light.
The scene then showed every human attacking the gods, sending every bit of magic towards them both.
"I was enraged that she did such a thing, the gift me and my brother showed them, and they used it against us!" Shouted the god of darkness.
"We had no choice but to kill every human in the planet, and yet, our power affected your family as well." Finished the god of light, the two of them bowed and apologized.
"It's….. Its hard to believe this happened, you two made humanity, and Grimm, caused a woman to be immortal, and had my family in a crossfire." I said in shock, but the animal god placed his hand on my shoulder.
"I know how you feel, but, we cannot undo what is done, so the two of them have given you gifts to conoinsate for their actions." The god of light stepped forward and held a bright orb in his hand.
"As you know, the humans in your time discovered aura, and with aura came a semblance." He said, the orb then hovered in front of me.
"Your original semblance, ancestral summon, allows you to summon your entire family bloodline. My gift to you is a second semblance." He said, I placed my hands in the orb and it disappeared.
"It is called, semblance imitation, and it can copy and infinent amount of semblances." I widened my eyes in shock.
"And my gift, is this." He then held up a small ball of metal, it floated towards me and landed in my hands.
"This sphere can copy any weapon, all you have to do, is touch the weapon and it shall change into it." I held the orb in my hand, and it changed into a thin piece of metal and wrapped itself around my arm.
"I…I don't know what to say." My mother just hugged me and smiled.
"It's alright, I'll be here to guide you every step of the way." She said and stood up too face the gods.
"I thank you for giving me this chance, and I hope you all have a safe journey." The gods all bowed and soon faded away.
Leaving me and my mother alone in the white void. I then spoke up to ask a question that I had for a long time.
"Mom, what is my trait?" She smiled at my question and took a step back. Slowly, she began to shrink in size, her hair changed from white to black.
Her eyes changed from red to amber, and her tails began to retract. And when she spoke, her voice was like Blake's.
"B-big brother, I'm scared." She said with perfect impersonation, I was surprised at what I saw.
"You can physically change your appearance, and even imitate anyone." I said, she then changed back and offed her head.
"That's not all, we kitsunes can create illusions. Far more convincing than any illusion." She took a step forward, and the ground began to shake.
The floor split open and the two of us rose into the air, I could feel the wind pushing against my body as we rose higher and higher.
Once we stopped rising, I looked down to see I was standing on rock. I knelt down to touch it, and I could feel how cold it is, it was smooth as well when I moved my hand.
I then rushed to the edge to see what I was standing on, but my mother gripped my collar and pulled me back.
"Remember, just because you feel it, doesn't mean it's real." I nodded my head and she snapped her fingers.
The entire scenery faded away, and we were standing in the white void once again. I turned to my mother who was smiling at me and giggled when she saw me with my jaw hanging open.
I couldn't really believe it, I mean I can since I saw it, but I didn't expect the Kitsune to have more than one trait.
"I-Is there one more?" I asked, she smiled and blue flames began to appear behind her. They slowly spun in a circle and each of them began to change shape and form.
One of the flames showed me as a baby, another showed my mother smiling and tickling me, and the final one, showed me what happened when I disappeared.
"Are those figures showing when I was born?" I asked, she nodded her head, and I could see tears welling up in her eyes.
"Those moments, are the most precious things I've cherished. If that stupid human wasn't a spoiled brat, we could have been a family." She said through a broken voice.
"But now, I can help you, train you to be like us." She said and held out her arms.
"Me and the rest of your family, will help you protect those you care the most." I smiled at her words and rushed to hug her, she began to sniffle in happiness and wrapped her tails around me.
I did the same to her and I slowly began to fall asleep, before I passed out from my fatigue I heard my mother say one last thing.
"Remember Aiko, mommy will always love you."
