As soon as I stepped a block away from her house, the smile on my face disappeared, replaced by a serious expression.
Thanks to my phenomenal memory, I could clearly distinguish that she had undergone some serious changes. In the first place, after being poisoned by the spider toxin, Gwen should have been near death. But not only was she incredibly alert, but I noticed that her body had changed.
She had some muscle definition, her waist was thinner, and her breasts were bigger. All in all, she was slimmer, taller and more beautiful. And this in one day, which could not alarm and surprise me.
The second little noticeable fact, to which my thoughts reached only now, is that the faucet was not unscrewed, but completely broken off. This was evidenced by mangled and bent pieces of metal at the place of fracture. Well, the main reason is that I saw distinct fingerprints on the broken faucet. And if I'm not mistaken, Gwen's strength has grown, terribly. So it follows that she's not used to such increased strength, just accidentally ripped out the faucet.
Of course, this theory seems incredibly crazy, but if you take the insanity of our world, then a lot of things fall into place. Take the Hulk, who caused unbelievable destruction a few years ago. Or the genetically modified Captain America, who has been alive since World War II because of being frozen in ice. Even all that pales in comparison to Thor and a bunch of aliens that two years ago tried to take over the earth and caused incredible destruction throughout New York City.
So on top of that, before I was born, there was a war between x-gene terrorists and ordinary people. Which the humans won, of course, by inventing a special drug that destroyed the x-gene. Of course, not everyone had it destroyed, only the terrorists. But even so, anyone can get the drug to be cured. I mean, not everyone has a mutation that's useful.
Okay, I'm getting a little off topic here. So, I had a suspicion that Gwen gained superpowers after being bitten by a spider. Of course, I didn't run home to get bitten by a spider. That would have been as stupid as possible. Instead, I began to keep a close eye on Gwen.

A week... That's how long I'd been following Gwen closely, and every day my suspicions about her superpowers increased.
She was starting to be late to class, or even skipping class. In addition, the city has a new "hero" that calls herself a girl spider and flying on the web fights with petty criminals.
And the time of appearance, this heroine coincides with the bite of the spider, and the pseudonym Spider-Girl, more than speaks for itself.
All this caused me a wild desire to acquire the same abilities, so today I planned to inject the spider toxin in myself, good I collected enough of it before the spider died. But my plans were not to be.
It was the middle of class when loud noises began to echo in the hallway, followed by a giant green lizard smashing through the wall.
All my classmates started running away from the classroom with screams and squeals while this overgrown lizard and the spider girl in the white costume fought.
Just in case, I left the office too, but I didn't go far. Instead, I waited for the two men to get far away.
After a minute, they did. They broke through another wall before diving into the sewers and disappearing. Realizing this was a good chance, I burst into the office and saw what I'd hoped to see. Blood drops. The blood was two colors, one darker and one lighter. Quickly pulling out the flasks, I collected what I could and then quickly headed to the lab. Since the school was empty for a while before the police arrived, this was a great chance to use all the tools and reagents in the lab.
As soon as I entered the lab, I saw destruction everywhere, which surprised me. Frowning, I turned on Dr. Curt Connors' computer and saw a simulated human mutation based on the lizard genome. That's when I realized who the lizard was. I quickly began to examine the data and realized that there were errors in some places, which was why Dr. Connors had taken the form of a lizard.
Once I had that data, I changed my plan. But unfortunately, there was no time to implement it. So I quickly analyzed the blood samples I had collected, and then left the lab and went home to scrutinize the data and make a plan.

When I got home, I locked myself in my room and began to study the printed data. As I suspected, the spider and the lizard were Gwen and Connors. And judging by the mutation data, their physical abilities were at an incredible level.
Turning on my computer, I loaded all the data into it and began the tedious and incredibly difficult work of combining the spider and lizard genomes into one. And I did it all manually, so as not to make any mistakes like Dr. Connors. And with all the automatic calculations, my computer would have burned out from overloading.
It took me all night to combine the two genomes into one and create the perfect serum for superpowers based on Connors and Gwen's mutation data.
And I needed all this to make me stronger than Gwen. Thanks to these manipulations, I would become two and a half times faster and stronger than Gwen purely physically, when she, judging by the data can lift up to twenty-five tons of weight. And with emotional leaps and bounds, even a hundred. Yes, and the speed when running she can develop about fifty kilometers per hour.
But the most important thing is not that, but that thanks to the genome of the lizard, I will get an incredibly strong regeneration, thanks to which, if anything, I can even grow a new limb.
By the time I finished modeling, it was already six in the morning. And in front of me stood the problem of money. After all, to realize my plan, I needed expensive equipment and a lot of chemicals. I spent about ten minutes thinking about where to find the money, but because of fatigue no ideas came into my head. So I decided to get a good night's sleep first, and only then to start thinking about money. Because of the attack and the destruction in the school, we canceled classes for a week until all the damage was repaired.....
So being in a great mood and excited about my newfound superpowers, I happily went to bed.
