Bab 295: The Situation
"Was it just as I expected?" Renault looked at the young girl in the room. Her puzzled gaze slowly moved between the three of them, as if she were contemplating something.
"Senpai, have you figured something out?" Mikoto felt frustrated. She had noticed that the girl seemed to have recovered well and was in good spirits, so she wanted to communicate with her and ask for her name.
However, the girl didn't say a word and just stared at her blankly, which only added to Mikoto's frustration.
"About this..." Renault smiled, turned around, and opened the door to the guest room. A man was standing at the entrance.
"Good evening, finally decided to call me yeah?" Evolto waved at Renault and slowly walked in. He greeted the three girls in the room, saying, "Sorry to disturb you, ladies."
Mikoto and Yuriko had seen Evolto before and knew that he was familiar with Renault, but they couldn't understand why he had been called here. After all, the matter with Evolto was something that hadn't been shared with anyone.
With Evolto by his side, Renault brought him to the bedside and smiled at the girl, saying, "Can I have your hand for a moment?"
The girl looked at Renault, tilted her head, and then glanced at his outstretched hand. Finally, she handed over her right hand.
After grabbing the girl's delicate hand, Renault said to Evolto beside him, "It's up to you now."
"Sure, let me take a look." Evolto stood next to Renault and gently placed his hand above the girl's palm, slowly closing his eyes.
"Oho? So that's how it is..." After a moment, Evolto opened his eyes and asked Renault, "Should we discuss it here or outside?"
Renault pondered for a moment and replied, "Let's go outside."
After saying that, he turned his head and patted the girl's head, saying, "Be a good girl here."
Then, accompanied by Evolto and the two girls, he went downstairs.
Once downstairs, Renault noticed that Evolto couldn't wait to pour himself a cup of coffee.
"...You actually have time to make yourself coffee?"
"Well, it's just something I do naturally. Do you want a cup?" Evolto sat down in a chair and raised his cup, gesturing to Renault.
"Our tastes don't quite match, so I'll pass. Let's get to the point."
After asking the two girls to sit down, Renault said, "Let's talk about the specifics. I only have a rough idea."
"Sure." After taking a satisfied sip of coffee, Evolto said, "Before we discuss her situation, let's talk about you and your sister."
Speaking, Evolto pointed to Renault and Yuriko.
"Both of you have genetically modified genes, so-called test-tube babies. I think you already know this, Mikoto also knows. But compared to that girl, your situation is relatively better. At least you have grown up normally, just like normal people."
"You mean..." Yuriko, who had recently read various books, quickly grasped Evolto's words.
Mikoto glanced at Yuriko and then at Evolto, wearing a puzzled expression. "What are you guys talking about?"
Evolto remained calm and smiled. "Well, Mikoto-chan, you're not familiar with this kind of knowledge, which is normal. So, let me be straightforward. I just examined that girl, and her physical age is only three years old, no more, no less."
"T-Three years old?!" Mikoto exclaimed, but her expression quickly turned angry because she understood what it meant.

"Yup, exactly," Evolto nodded. "To be honest, if you want it to be even faster, it could be done in about a month. But that doctor obviously not planning on creating a short-term disposable item. After completing her, with proper physical adjustments, instilling common knowledge, and brainwashing, she can be put to use."
"Instilling common knowledge?" Mikoto caught another term. "Are you saying she currently lacks the common knowledge that a person should have? Senpai, did you also notice that?"
Renault nodded. "Yeah, I can tell from the girl's physical qualities that she hasn't reached her best level yet. She was probably born earlier than planned. Actually, Renault wasn't overly concerned. First of all, they had no ill intentions toward the girl, and he believed that the other party could sense that clearly. After all, she had been obedient so far, without any resistance or attempts to escape.
Furthermore, the girl obviously hadn't been filled with all sorts of messy thoughts by that 'Doctor'. In other words, she was like a blank slate of paper.
As long as Renault and the others guided her appropriately, treating her like they did with Eri, they didn't need to worry about her going astray in the future.
If they were lucky, this girl might even become a valuable asset to help them fight against villains.
Of course, Renault hadn't reached the point where he needed a girl's help.
She was just a girl with a true age of only three, although she appeared mature on the outside, she was still a young girl.
"I have confidence in you youngster..." Evolto said, putting his coffee cup in the dishwasher. "I've helped you with your matter, so I'll take my leave. Let me know if you need anything. Ciao~"
After saying that, he disappeared.
With Evolto gone, Renault turned to Yuriko and Mikoto and said:
"Now that you understand the situation, our next steps are clear.
First, we need to teach the girl common knowledge and help her learn to speak. When I saved her, she asked me who I was, but her speech was fragmented. She probably picked up some words while running away and overheard others talking. I believe her learning ability is not lacking.
Second, we need to determine her Quirk to deduce the doctor's purpose in creating her.
And third..."
Looking at the two girls in front of him, Renault smiled and continued, "This should be the first priority. Let's give her a name."
"A name?"
"Yes, we can't keep calling her 'you' all the time, right? Having a name will make her feel more connected to us and facilitate better communication, don't you think?"
"A name... it sounds interesting!" Mikoto said with an excited smile.
