At a certain manor in the city, Alex was growing impatient after a lengthy stay, frustrated by his inability to leave.

"Alex, my friend, did I keep you waiting long?" Nathaniel entered the chamber.

Alex bowed to him, "My Lord..."

"Call me Nathan. I prefer to reminisce about our childhood memories. I'm tired of you acting like one of my subjects instead of my dear friend."

Alex's demeanour turned serious. "Nathan, has His Highness ordered you to keep me here?"

"Why does your every thought go to Arlan first? Is he so important in your mind that you now forget my existence?" Nathaniel sat in the chair as a servant entered and placed the wine bottle and glasses on the centre table. "Or do you think I stopped caring about you now that I have handed you over to Arlan?"
