Bab 9: Can't help but falling in love with you
Mom came running towards me and stopped the trolly before it could hit me. Then she ran towards me and asked, "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"
"No, mom. I'm fine.. Did you pay for the medicine mommy?" I asked in a cheerful tone, which was quite unusual and surprised mom for the second time.
"Y-yes. I did. Oh I forgot to buy you both any food. Let me go get some."
"No need mom."
"Why not?? Shut up and sit down. I'll be back soon." Saying that, mom left us and my brother who looked pale for a minute before, now looked mad and he was sticking his tongue out at me.
'Why are siblings this annoying!'
We both sat on the bench, turning each other's backs on each other. I wasn't gonna talk to him at all. I guessed he must have been thinking the same.
In a few minutes, Diane came upto us and stood in front of us. She suddenly burst out laughing while clutching her stomach.
"You guys look like an old married couple." She said.
"Ha ha, very funny." I wasn't enjoying her teasing. Diane grabbed me by my hand and and pushed me inside dad's room. She told me to talk to him before closing the door shut.
"...."
"Lucy.."
He spoke in a weak tone. I guess he was so tired of being in this hospital. I tried to sit on the sofa but dad insisted me to sit on the bed beside him. I obediently sat beside him. He was half lying on the bed.
"Dad.." I spoke. He had tears in his eyes when he started talking to me. This was the first time in days he talked with me again.
"I-" He started sobbing and tears started to stream down my cheeks immediately.
"I'm so sorry kid."
We were both crying now.
"It's okay dad.. I'm sorry too.."
"No, don't be. This is all my fault."
"No, no don't, blame yourself. It's all my fault daddy. I'm so sorry..-" I started sobbing louder and dad tapped on my hands.
"Look at me Lucy. Let's not blame anyone."
I wiped my tears as I kept listening to him.
"It's not your fault that you're gay, lesbian.. whatever. As long as you're my loving daughter, I'll always support you. Whatever you do, whatever you're going through.. I'll always be here for you kiddo."
I suddenly hugged dad tight as I sobbed in his arms. He hugged me back and we both sobbed. He was my best bud, my hero, my everything. I loved my dad so much!
He consoled me by slowly caressing my head. Eventually when we both pulled away from the hug, I thanked him.
"Thank you, dad. Thank you for understanding. Thank you for accepting me. Now..there's only mom left..." I looked away in disbelief.
"Don't worry darling, let's somehow change her mind. By force, or anything baby!" He sounded like his cheerful happy self again and he high fived me. I felt really really happy.
"That Diane girl.. you know, she's really a kind young lady. What a great personality."
I smiled and he continued, "You should go thank her, kid. If she hadn't spoken to me and opened my eyes, I would have never talked to you again. It was a possibility."
I got up the bed to leave but dad grabbed my hand and said, "Don't ever lose that girl kiddo." Then he let go of my hand and smiled.
My lips curved into a huge smile as I nodded and went outside the room. To my disappointment, Diane wasn't there on the bench. Only my stupid brother was. I had no other choice, so I asked him.
"Where's Dia-"
"Cafe."
"What!?"
"No no, she went to the cafe in this hospital to get everyone some food. CHILL."
"Dude what the hell? Mom went to get something a few minutes ago. Why didn't you stop her!? She's here just to help me okay? You're such an idiot."
"Says the most idiotic girl herself.."
"You- argh. I'll take care of you later. I have to go now. Starve to death, loser."
"Um, you too. By the way, I have my side chics to take care of me, you don't have to worr-"
I just kept running without listening to what he had to say. He was a moron, as always. Some things never change, do they?
I couldn't find Diane, nor mom anywhere. I kept running and found the cafe brother was talking about and so, I went inside.
It was packed. I almost gave up searching for them and went back but what I saw next, made me stay. I saw Diane. However, mom wasn't there.
Diane was feeding a few kittens and their mom. She looked like a literal angel. I was about to run upto her but I stopped in my tracks and hid behind a large wall.
I silently watched her from afar.
I was smiling! 'What is wrong with me goddammit!' I tried not to smile and control my lips but it was like they worked on their own.
I smiled and suddenly my mouth let out a chuckle! 'See, its working on its own!! eeek!'
"Hey! what are you doing there hiding??" I heard Diane shouting and looked at her way. I don't know what came over me, but I ran towards her in a rush, I almost fell on the floor one time as I ran very fast.
Suddenly, I stopped infront of her and looked deep into her light brown eyes that shone like two pretty marbles.
She tried to speak but I suddenly hugged her and uttered, "I love you."
