Bab 14: CAREFUL

The board of directors all gasped. When did the Walters brothers have a sister? Was she lost? Or is she just a cousin that they took in as a sister? What is going on?

All kinds of questions filled their thoughts as they whispered from one person to the other. One of the shareholders who was a man with a big pot belly and fatty face said, "Felix, is she really your sister?". He has been with the Walters since James was the CEO and has never heard of them having a daughter before.

"Yes, Mr Carmichael she is my sister and just like I said earlier, she will be the new head of department of finance. That is final", Felix said. He knew what the old fatty pigs there were thinking so he had to repeat what he said earlier.

The old aged shareholder who are above 60 all love at Erika lustfully and some looked at her in suspicion still not believing that she was a Walters daughter.

Erika felt disgusted with some of their stares but still kept her composure. "Good morning everyone, my name is Erika Walters and just like my brother said I will be the new head of finance and I would love to have a good working relationship with you all",she said with a smile. She faced Felix and he gave her a nod of acknowledgment.

She went to take her seat as they talked about the company's matters and since it's her first day of work, the meeting only took half an hour before ending.

Everyone scattered to their respective offices. Erika followed her brothers so that they can show her her new office. It will beautiful with every working necessity. She felt happy and thanked them.

Michael said, "Erika, I know you must be happy now and I also know you will make us all proud but please be careful." He knew why he was saying that and it's because of those shareholders he saw looking at her lustfully. He was worried that they would cause her trouble.

Erika understood what her brother was talking about and replied, "Mick, don't worry. Am no longer a teenager so I can take care of myself. Remember, Felix is teaching me self defense so I can defend myself when they do something unpleasant".

Daniel replied this time, "Oh yeah, I remember when Felix told you to take three laps and you couldn't even complete one".

Felix snacked Daniel on the head, "Stop teasing your sister. Wait, don't you have a company to look after". Michael and Daniel are not really involved in the family's business and instead pursued their dreams of become a doctor and a CEO of the entertainment industry but can still make decisions in the Walters corporations when necessary.

"Says the CEO who is still here doing nothing", Daniel replied.

"What did you just say?",Felix asked ready to smack his younger brother's head again.

"Nothing!!! We are going", Daniel said hurriedly trying to dodge.

Erika said feigning angry, "Yeah, the both of you should go, you are disrupting my work."

"Oh we are sorry, Madam. We will leave you to do your work now, goodbye madam", Michael said teasingly and left with Daniel quickly.

Erika just shook her head smiling. Felix went to her and said, "Well, you look all settled in so now I will also get to work. Your secretary is also ready. Good luck". He left to do his own job as well. Files were already placed on her desk so she immediately started calculating until she lost track of time. It all already time for lunch but didn't notice until Felix came in and invited her for lunch.

The both of them walked together and it attracted so much employees as it did in the morning. They have already heard that Erika was the boss's sister so non of them wanted to anger her or anything. They only greeted her respectfully and she replied respectfully too.

The both of them walked to the company's cafeteria and ordered. They were simply doing regular things that others did but people still stared at them like they had two heads.

The brother and sister simply ate and talked about random things without minding their environments.

At the same time, Ethan was having lunch with a childhood friend, Jasmine. He had tried to buy his way out of it but his dad had threatened him saying he would stop taking his drugs.

"Thank you so much Ethan for making it to our lunch today," Jasmine said sweetly. She was Ethan's childhood friend and they had been close but their parents had misunderstood their closeness and were forcing them to be together. Ethan doesn't like the idea since he has never liked jasmine that way and besides his heart longed for someone else, Erika.

"What do you want?", he knew what she wanted but wanted to let her say it herself.

Jasmine paused and stared at Ethan a little shocked. Does he not know what I want? She regained her composure and replied sweetly, "Ethan, you know our parents wants us to marry. You see am ready for it and I love you Ethan so why don't we just get married".

"You are wasting your time," Ethan replied coldly. "You know I don't like you that way, I only see you as a friend, nothing more." He was starting to get tired of repeating the same thing over and over again.

Jasmine didn't give up, "I know but you can still love me right, you can learn to love me Ethan. I would do anything for you to love me back." She extended her arm to hold his hand.

Ethan lost it and glared at her coldly which made her retract her hands, "Are you not understanding my language, I said I don't love you. Is it so hard to understand. If you keep up with this attitude of yours then you might as well forget our friendship". He cleaned his mouth and stood up to leave.

Jasmine watched him walk out of their private room and a tear fell from her eyes. She loved Ethan so much but no matter what happened, he wouldn't reciprocate her feelings for him. She once had him followed to check if he was seeing another woman but no, he was not. Jasmine wiped her tears and said determined, "I will make you mine Ethan."
