Bab 74: Advancement
"2 Palms!!! 4 Palms!!! 8 Palms!!! 16 Palms!!! 32 Palms!!!! 64 PALMS!!!!"
*BOOOM!!!!!*
Naruto was blasted to the arena wall while spitting out blood violently. He then looked at Hinata who looked at him with furrowed eyebrows.
He smirked as he dispelled, Hinata widened her eyes as she realized that she was just attacking a Clone all along.
She saw with the Byakugan that there was a kunai flying towards her. She turned around and stretched out her hand, intending to grab it and throw it back to Naruto.
Suddenly the kunai transformed into Naruto who then grinned broadly at her. Hinata widened her eyes and as lightning crackled violently around her hands.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Bullets!!!" Naruto shouted after performing several one handed hand seals. He took a deep breath and exhaled several medium blasts of wind chakra that scattered in different directions.
Hinata tried to dodge them but they were moving too fast and were scattered. She gasped as the blasts pierced into her flesh. She gritted her teeth and ignored the pain in her torso.
She performed a circular motion with her arms as the lightning began to crackle more violently. She then put her hands together and shot out several lightning bolts from her fingertips at Naruto who widened his eyes at the speed of the lightning.
He used the Body Flicker Jutsu to escape the attack, the stream of lightning bolts resulted in a huge explosion of fire. Hinata looked at Naruto who began to weave several one handed hand seals while throwing shuriken and kunai at Hinata with his other hand.
Hinata dodged then gracefully but she widened her eyes again as the shuriken kunai transformed into Shadow Clones of Naruto.
'He was distracting me with those hand seals he was making!' Hinata thought as ehe looked at the real Naruto. The clones threw a barrage of kunai at Hinata and then began to weave hand seals.
"Ninja Art: Kunai Shadow Clone Jutsu!!!"
The kunai the clones threw soon multiplied into several dozen kunai, all of which were flying towards Hinata.
Realizing there were too many to dodge or block, Hinata began to pour fire chakra through her tenketsu points, forcing more and more chakra out of her body before she began to spin.
"Rotation!!!" She declared as she created a spinning flaming protective shield that burned the kunai into crisps. While spinning, she controlled the flaming shield and changed it into a fireball before directing it towards Naruto who dodged it.
Hinata appeared in front of him in a flash while lightning crackled around her hand. The blonde winced a bit as he blocked her numbing strikes with his hands.
Naruto tried to backpedal but it was put to a stop by the lavender eyed girl who changed towards him. He was forced to duck and weave in between strikes that were coming far faster and more fluidly then before
It was obvious to Naruto that his opponent had been holding back. Not being able to see an opening this time, Naruto decided he had to take a strike in order to get one.
When Hinata came in with an attack towards the blonde's chest, he moved himself ever so slightly so that it hit his shoulder instead. Naruto winced a bit but was able still able to launch a kick which hit Hinata in the chest, sending her flying backwards.
She landed on her back and skidded across the ground, grimacing as she held a hand to her chest. She immediately recovered and took in a Flames ignited on her fists. Hinata narrowed and condensed it before she fired out thin blades of fireat Naruto who dodged them.
Hinata sent out several streams of fire at Naruto who dodged them all. It looked like Hinata was dancing while she was sending out streams of flames to the blonde.
Hinata then directed two powerful fire streams at her opponent. The two streams intertwined, creating a massive, comet-shaped fire stream that was way more powerful than the single stream.
Naruto widened his eyes as the comet shaped fire stream advanced towards him, destroying the ground in it's wake. He quickly summoned a scroll in his containment seal and unfurled it.
He laid it on the ground and put a foot on the small circle in the scroll. Suddenly, a bunch of water flowed out of the scroll. It was enough water to fill a swimming pool.
Naruto weaved through a set of hand seals in a second. "Water Style: Flowing Spear!" He declared as he held out his right hand. He shaped the water he released into a giant two handed spear.
He threw it towards the comet stream. The attacks collided, sending a bunch of steam everywhere. Hinata stayed cautious while she was able to see Naruto through the steam.
She saw Naruto charging towards her. When he closed, in the Hyuga launched a strike to Naruto's stomach. However the blonde was able to swat the attack away before any internal damage could be dealt.
He retaliated by lashing out with a kick, but was surprised when Hinata caught it. However before she could make an attempt at closing any of his tenketsu points, Naruto jumped into the air and spun around while launching a heel kick, forcing Hinata to let go if his leg and jump back.
The two eyed each other wearily, using the small pause to catch their breath. Naruto threw two kunai at Hinata who tilted her head to the side to dodge them.
She widened her eyes as she sae w formula written on the kunai. She widened her eyes even more when she recognized what the seals were.
They were seals written on tags to make them an exploding tag. Hinata immediately started performing the Rotation technique but she was a little too late.
*BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!*
Hinata flew back and skidded on the ground as the kunai shrapnel were embedded in her body. She also had burns on her body from the explosion.
She coughed a little before getting up. She immediately dodged a kunai thrown at her from behind and turned around to see Naruto in front of her. Lightning crackled around her hands again.
"Lightning Release: Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms!!!" Hinata sent out her attacks, increasing her speed to the point that only a few in the crowd could ever hope to follow.
Naruto tried his best to dodge them; however one of the strikes had finally managed to get through and hit him.
*BOOM!!*
However all that did was make Naruto explode in a shower of electricity. The entire crowd became absolutely shocked at the turn of events as Hinata flew backwards and landed on the ground with a thud several feet away.
Her body was twitching as the lightning chakra disabled hed nervous system and motor functions. She couldn't even feel anymore, much less move.
Several feet away from her, the kunai Naruto had thrown before charging towards Hinata burst into a puff of smoke before clearing to reveal the real Naruto standing there.
"H...ow?" Hinata asked weakly, barely managing to move his jaw muscles due to the electricity messing with his motor functions.
"After you attacked, I used the time I spent dodging to channel my chakra perfectly so that I could do a seal-less and smokeless Substitution Jutsu, replacing myself with a clone and then replacing myself with the kunai and combined it with a simultaneous henge to disguise myself."
"The clone was actually a creation of my own. It was really just a standard Shadow Clone with one major difference. I had it prepared before I had even gotten to the stadium and hid it far enough away that your Byakugan wouldn't be able to find it unless you were actively looking for it."
" The clone itself had a seal on it which I call Fūinjutsu: Static Shock. I stored my lightning chakra into it and released it the moment the clone's chakra was disrupted."
Everyone who heard this was gaping like a fish. To have planned so many moves in advance was genius. Something that reminded many of the shinobi present of the way the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze had battled.
"Un-fucking-believable." Kotetsu said with wide eyes and a gaping mouth.
"You can say that again." Izumo mumbled, currently unsure what to think since his mind felt like it had been put into an oven and deep fried.
"Un-fucking-believable."
Naruto knelt in front of Hinata. " Ya know, I admire you, Hinata. You went from this shy girl to what you are right now. Strong, confident and beautiful."
" This dream of yours, to unite the Hyuga Clan. I still don't know a whole lot about this but it doesn't matter. You can't do it on your own, but don't worry, I'll be there to help. When I become Hokage, I'll help you change the Hyuga Clan, believe it!!!" Naruto declared confidently with a grin in his face.
Hinata's eyes were filled with hope before they closed, and she slipped into unconsciousness with a smile on her face, but not before saying this.
"Thank you.... Naruto-kun...." She whispered as she fell unconscious. Naruto smiled at her words before he stood up. Genma walked over and raised his hand.
"WINNER!!! NARUTO UZUMAKI!!!!"
For a moment there was nothing but silence, the whole stadium had gone quiet as they absorbed all that had transpired during the battle. Naruto had expected as much and began to walk away.
Then it happened. Loud clapping could be heard coming from the Kage booth as both Hiruzen and A began clapping. It soon began to sweep throughout the stadium as everyone began to applaud and cheer Naruto wildly.
"WAY TO GO NARUTO-KUN!!!" Tenten screamed loudly.
"What a youthful battle! And such a heart felt and youthful speech!" Lee covered his face with an arm as tears poured down his eyes like a waterfall.
"I WILL STRIVE TO BE LIKE NARUTO-KUN AND SPREAD MY FLAMES OF YOUTH! AND IF I CANNOT DO THAT THEN I WILL DO ONE MILLION LAPS AROUND KONOHA ON MY HANDS! AND IF I CANNOT DO THAT THEN I'LL...."
Everyone except Tenten, who was used to Lee's antics, backed away from the Genin who began shouting about 'youth' and making ridiculous challenges to himself that got more Ludicrous and more grandiose as time went on.
Many of them wondered if he had lost his mind. Of course since he was wearing green spandex, they felt the answer to that was rather obvious.
Temari looked at the blond, replaying his speech in her head. She was not sure what to think about the blond shinobi, he was a lot different from other ninja she had known.
But she had to admit, the battle and speech afterwards were most impressive and heartfelt. 'It's too bad he'll most likely be dead before the end of the day.' She thought with a frown on her face.
"THAT'S SHOWING 'EM NARUTO!" Sakura shouted as she cheered her teammate on. Satsuki had a smirk on her face she clapped her hands for the blonde. Ino who was standing beside Sakura, was clapping and whistling at Naruto.
"I'm not even sure what to say about this battle." Kotetsu commented.
" Both were good, but Naruto had the upper hand from the start. Hell, I'm almost positive that Naruto had her beat from the beginning and was just making her waste her chakra. That plan was easily Chunin if not Jonin level strategy."
" Well I can tell you one thing, I'm definitely putting his name on the list for Chunin." Kotetsu said as he grinned, making Izumo chuckle.
"Yeah, me too."
