Bab 3: New Life and Plans
Third Pov
It was a day like any other in Jamac Village, men could be seen working in the fields, women were shopping at the small market and children were running around and playing at the fountain. It was a small village so everyone knew each other, and most people knew that right now a young couple was expecting their second child.
Inside a wooden house not far from the market, the pained screams of a woman could be heard but not even an hour later they stopped. In the house, you could see a tired woman looking at the child in her arms lovingly.
''Arman, it´s another boy. Have you already decided on a name?'' she asked the man sitting beside her
''No Grena, I didn´t, you said you wanted to name the next child'' he replied while looking at his second son proudly
''Ah, right. How does Arhet sound, I always liked that name'' she said while looking at her husband
''Arhet? I like it, that´s the name of a strong man. I wonder what attribute he has'' he wondered
''Not a good time'' she glared at him before looking back at her baby ''So your name is Arhet, do you like it?'' she got no reaction but she wasn´t expecting one anyway. That was how Arhet was born.
Timeskip
It´s been seven years since then and Arhet has gained himself a reputation as a weird kid. He rarely spoke but seemingly always knew what someone was thinking or feeling, the fact that he had the soul affinity didn´t help either.
First Pov
The start of my second life was strange, to say the least. Unlike what most would expect, I didn´t have my full intellect the moment I was born nor did I suddenly get the memories of a second person, but rather I was always me just that my brain development was in sync with my intellect. I don´t know why my consciousness went back from being in my soul to my brain but it didn´t matter. Talking was weird for me, I learned to feel the meaning of my environment and communication via sound has become kind of useless, so I stayed quiet most of the time.
Speaking of weird, ever since I woke up in this new world I have been able to 'see' souls, I mean I kinda was able to feel them before after spending so long as one but not like this. As it turned out I had the soul affinity, an affinity that was, while extremely rare, not only rather weak in comparison to other rare ones but also pretty frowned upon after some soul magic user did some rather morally questionable things and was found out.
Other than there have been a few very interesting developments, for example, my soul. With my new sense, I quickly found out what happened to it during that fateful day that now seems like an eternity ago, at least partly. My soul was unlike any soul I have ever seen, not that I have seen that many, but at the same time it was very familiar. I didn´t have one, or better said my soul turned to Nothingness but didn´t get erased but mutated and became one with it. It also explained why my soul was attracted by this reality or to be precise this energy.
My soul didn´t have any kind of energy which was impossible by the laws of this reality. Once I entered this universe the energy was absorbed by my soul and mutated as well but still acted like an anchor, if I wanted to return to the Nothingness all I had to do was let go and let the universe drift away. On the other hand, now that I have this energy, or as the locals call it, mana, I can control my soul to an extent so I should be able to maneuver to new realities on my own.
Speaking of which, this universe is rather similar to Black Clover, or at least as far as I can tell because Jamac Village is in the southwest of the Clover kingdom and the current wizard king is only the 12th generation so it is still is to debate if this really is Black Clover. If it is then I have no idea how low till Asta and Yuno are born as I was not a BC fanatic all I have as an indicator is that they were born during the 28th Wizard King, so still a long way to go.
But I wasn´t that worried about that, not only had I no intention to participate in their adventures but I also had my own share of plans going on. What you might ask? Well for starters I have to get my grimoire after that you will see, but let me tell you, once I´m done with all my plans, I will be way unmatched in this universe and have a very solid foundation for any future universes that involve magic and affinity. My soul magic was the key to all these plans but let´s start at the beginning.
1- Get my grimoire to fully utilize soul magic
2- create magic that absorbs souls to increase mana, gain affinity, and get a stronger soul
3- create magic to transfer my soul to another body to get pseudo-immortality
4- get sealing affinity for 5
5- put a seal on the path to the afterlife to absorb souls, attach 2 for automation
6- if 4 or 5 isn´t possible at the moment, detach a small piece of soul and attach it to another. Upon the death of the individual soul, the piece will return and take the foreign soul with it
Those were my plans for now. Was it morally questionable? From the point of view of others, definitely, I, however, don´t care, I have long lost things that stupid, it´s not like the dead still needed their souls, not that they would even notice.
