-2 weeks later-
The rest of the journey wasn't too tense, aside from Joffrey whining whenever the carriage hit a bump and hurt his "severely injured" arm, nothing really serious happened.
Cersei tried to have Mycah killed, but as he was my new squire, she couldn't reach him, so to really take revenge she decided to kill Lady and, as in the series, Sansa collapsed in tears after Lady's murder.
I felt a little pang in my heart seeing her cry, but I knew that anything I said would be absolutely useless, she had been filled with shit in her head all her life and that wasn't going to change because Lady was dead.
So I waited for her pain to pass, trying to brighten her days with small gifts, nothing too big, some brooches and jewelry, I even tried to give her flowers but I completely stopped when she took out all her frustration on me and called me a bastard.
She considered everything my fault, that I was responsible for her love breakup with the little shit that is Joffrey, and even worse she believed that everything her mother said was true so I stopped wasting my time and buried all the resentment I felt against my cousin deep inside me, internally blaming Catelyn and her young age as the responsible for her stupidity.
Upon arriving in King's Landing, I immediately made an appointment with my informant and decided to start revealing a bit of my game, I now had the time to do what I wanted and thanks to the king I now have the opportunity to control an army and truly become a player in this long game of chess that is the Game Of Thrones.
-3rd person POV-
In a not very frequented inn, 3 men and a woman met in silence, the first and youngest then stepped forward to embrace them in turn and then he said:
"Bryan, Valeria, Connor, I'm glad to see that you are all well and in good health"
"It's thanks to you Jon you know that" said Valeria, kissing the young man passionately.
Jon almost threw himself body and soul into this kiss which lasted long seconds before stopping once the two brothers emitted little coughs to demonstrate their annoyance at this spectacle.
The two lovebirds smiled but decided not to make the two twins more uncomfortable than they already were.
"So how is the pig doing?" asked Jon using the code name he had given to....
"The pig is doing well, we brought it here already 5 moons ago" said Valeria.
"Perfect, starting tomorrow I want you to come with me, you will stay with me at all times" said Jon surprising the three who understood that Jon was going to go on the offensive.
"It begins" said Valeria.
"Yes we are at the beginning of a new era, but there is still a long way to go before we can officially start, for now I have just been appointed the new commander of the City Watch of King's Landing" said Jon with a little proud smile.
"Seriously??!" said the three at the same time with expressions of surprise.
"Yes, it's as much a blessing as a curse" said Jon without really going into the subject before starting to explain the tasks they will have to carry out.
-The Next Day-
-MC POV-
The next morning, I gathered all the officers of the watch on the training ground of the barracks, I was surprised by their numbers as they were quite numerous, 200 captains and 20 lieutenants.
I didn't want to start everything while having bad seeds within the chain of command, so I implemented a method of sorting to separate the wheat from the chaff.
I looked at the crowd of officers in front of me and said out loud so that each of them could hear me:
"Good morning to all of you, you probably don't know me so I will introduce myself...My name is Jon Stark, I am the son of the Warden of the North Lord Eddard Stark and I have been charged with making the gold cloaks a real army, I am 14 days of name and before I announce what will change, I want to tell you the new rules, from now on every month I will decide who stays and who will be dismissed from the watch nobody else....."
I explained at length my expectations and requirements, then I released them ordering them to patrol the city as usual.
I turned my head towards Connor, Bryan, and Valeria, and they all nodded their heads knowing that the mission was starting now."
